Publisher's Summary

I've done some stupid things in my time. I've been reckless. I've broken a few rules. But never before have I ruined so many lives or left such a trail of destruction behind me.

As Max would be the first to admit, she's never been one for rules. They tend to happen to other people. But this time she's gone too far, and everyone is paying the price. Grounded until the end of time, how can she ever put things right?

Good book but no more for me

I've really enjoyed the Chronicles of St Marys. But when Clive Ronan showed up again, I think I'm losing interest. I've enjoyed the shenanigans of St Marys. The flirting with the time line. I loved Cleo the Muse of History although she hasn't been seen in recent books. But now the author seems to be including difficulties in the form of Clive Ronan where none are needed. The Historians are quite capable of causing their own problems. And from reading reviews of future books, I think now is the time to stop. This book was good. But no more for me.

Fun romp through time

Would you listen to Lies, Damned Lies and History again? Why?

I would listen to this book again as it is well paced with a good voice performance and is a good sequel in the series

What about Zara Ramm’s performance did you like?

Great pacing and inflection. Her performance really brought the characters to life but did over do it like many I have heard before

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There were certainly moment that made me giggle or have a wry smile. Certainly not a book to cry to

All good except

Would have given this full marks if not for the kidnap chapter. That old character Roland has been done to death so why bring him back? It did nothing to enhance the story. Otherwise, excellent as usual.

Alright but not amazing

Not sure I'll continue with the series. If quality picks up again I will but if this is a sign of the turning times I'd rather leave on a good note. The first historical jump was quite good and there were some intriguing hints of magic to liven things up.

High drama and comedy at it's best

Jody Taylor has done it again, fabulously narrated and of course fabulously written. My heart was in my mouth quite a few times and that ending....awwww

History Appetiser

An entertaining history appetiser that should whet the appetite. An excellent plot idea cemented upon an interesting lead character.

another triumph

St Mary's chaos again. Excellent pace, interesting prose, kidnap and drama, humour and pathos, what else can a reader desire? The characters leap out fully formed from the story, making the listener feel they are meeting old friends again, no cardboard cutouts here. Performed with style by Zara Ramm as usual, the partnership of Author Jodi and reader Zara is truly a match made in heaven.
