Audie Award Finalist, Paranormal, 2016

Eleven years ago atheist Malcolm Romero met a god. Now he's a demon-hunting voodoo priest armed with a holy machete named Hounacier. After the murder of his mentor, he returns to New Orleans to catch the killer. But more is at stake when Malcolm finds himself betrayed and his holy blade stolen. Now Malcolm's only hope to save his soul and to recover Hounacier is the Valducan knight sent to kill him, Matt Hollis, the wielder of the holy revolver Dämoren.

Critic Reviews

"Narrator R.C. Bray lends his expertise to this darker entry in the Valducan series, which features demon-hunting knights in New Orleans. Bray's deep voice and rich accent suit voodoo practitioner Malcolm exceptionally well." (AudioFile)

A fantastic followup

Seth immediately grabbed me with is first book, dämoren. So I eagerly purchased Hounacier and it didn't disappoint.

Hounacier follows Malcom Romero, a supporting character from the first book. Someone who was quite unlikable in dämoren due to his animosity to Mathew, the protagonist.

in this book he is fleshed out, becomes much more likeable and developed whilst maintaining the impression of badassary he oozed in the first book.

this book isn't quite as deep as the first one, as the air of mystery isn't quite as thick. But the book is still fascinating, shedding light on different aspects of the mythos not explored in the first book.

on a final note. the book is visceral, downright terrifying I'm some of its descriptions. Seth doesn't hold back; a demon werewolf treats a child pretty much how you'd expect it to. with no censorship.
