There are reasons we fear the night. Now he's trying to stop them.
Three months have passed since the fateful encounter in New York City that ended with the disappearance of Bill Ryder - gamer, geek, and legendary vampire. Now he's back - reawakened halfway across the globe with no allies, clothing, or clue as to how he got there. The only thing he's certain of is that his captors plan to use him for their own nefarious ends and don't care how much blood they spill in the process.
Escape might be the least of his worries, though. Civilization teeters on the brink of chaos. Mythical beasts, once thought the stuff of fantasy, are breaking through the veil, intent on waging war against mankind. At their forefront stands an ancient evil, the last remnant of a people thought long dead, and it's about to cut a swath of destruction through the world not seen since biblical times.
Bill's only chance is to reclaim his life, reconcile with his friends, and muster every bit of attitude he can - because if he fails, Hell on Earth will become far more than just a corny saying.

"Good, but mainly a transition story"
This is the 5th book in the Tome of Bill series. Getting right to the point, if you liked the previous books in this series you will like this one as well. If you did not like the previous books then why the heck have you continued this far into the series?
The story is interesting and the humor is good. There is a bit of character development but not too much which is good as this series is supposed to be light and I'd hate to lose the fun and humor as the series progresses. Some of the character actions don't make great sense, then again stupid actions are Bill's trademark.
Really I would have given this book 4 stars except that the conclusion of the story is sort of weak and it really is more of a setup for later stories than a true stand alone novel. I hate stories that are left hanging. It's one thing to have a meta-plot but quite another to leave the reader feeling like the story was not adequately resolved.
The narrarator is good. He does one of the best smart-alec voices I have heard. He doesn't have the greatest range but his ability to bring out the humor more than makes up for other shortcomings. The problem with this one is the audio quality wasn't as good as the previous books. You could definitely could hear different volume levels as they switched tracks which is annoying and makes you turn your mp3 player up and down a good bit
Other than that this is another fun and enjoyable book in the series. I am looking forward to the next one, but definitely hope for a better ending to the next book..
"awesome narration ."
narrator great. not the best book in the series but good. I would recommend it
Loved it. Downloading the next one Noe. I am hooked on all things "Bill the Vampire."
"Really fun read"
This series is one of the funniest I've found. i love the fish-out-of-water angle these books take by putting a computer geek in the good guy vampire hero role. This could almost be a Peter Parker/ Spiderman story but much funnier.
"Keeps getting better"
Heck yeah, it's a fun and highly addictive series
He's excellent, he IS bill the vampire, for me
Awesome im loving the series. Billy always has me laughing. Awesome cant wait for last one.
"Gualtieri does it again!"
loved it. rick has raised the bar and amped up the drama in this volume. beloved old characters and interesting new ones keep the story moving and fresh.
"building up. gang is back together."
If you like urban fantasy with some geek humor and some rowdy comedy, this book series is for you. This installment for the tome of bill series is more of an set up for the next book. It's kind of like season 5 of a series you are following and you are just getting an update on where the gang is at this point. It might also benefit people to read the Sunset Strip spin off prior to starting this book to learn about where sally has been.
"Bill continues to please"
Bill the vampire remains a hero you reluctantly love. And you can rest assured his adventures continue to play out enticingly in this latest volume. This is more of the quirky, dorky, and desperately fun stuff we've seen all through the series. The action, plot, and supporting cast do not disappoint.
Mister Fetherolf continues to be the absolutely perfect voice for Bill; and his skill with sarcastic dialogue always lends just the right edge. That said, I continue to wish someone would review his recordings for pronunciation. His mispronunciations are frequent and glaring enough to disrupt the flow of the story.
Bill the Vampire. This is the funniest vampire series I have read. It will keep you laughing at all the sarcastic comments and the love/hate relationship between Sally and Bill. Funny as hell.
Bill the Vampire. He is an idiot. It takes him a few minutes longer to catch on to things than it does everyone else.
All of them.
When Bill found out Sheila was alive.
This is a great series. Christopher John Fetherolf is Bill the Vampire. No one else would be able to capture the smart mouth and sarcasm that he does with Bill and Sally. I can't wait for book 7 to be in audio.
Fantastic series that gets better and better with each book (I'm listening to the audio versions) adult humour and innuendo mixed in with great characters and a great story ark.
Add Rick to your read / listen list you won't be disappointed.
The narrator does a first class job also.
"the tomb of bill Book 5"
