Enjoyable
This 2nd book of the series was good. A little over dramatic most of the time though but I'm enjoying the story. I prefer the first book but will gladly listen to the 2 novellas next in Cruel Crown!

Too much angst for an audiobook
I loved the first in this series which I read, not as an audiobook. I am not sure why this was such a painful story - mere spends every page of book doubting worrying being full of angst. Listening to her wine just goes on and on ... Get on with it already. Maybe this is book that be read not listened to.
That's my thoughts - read this book if you enjoyed red queen - don't get the audio book

Love this series, but def not a romance
I have enjoyed this series and have now listened to it several times over. I love the courage of the protagonist and her very real reactions to her situation sometimes.
This definitely isn't a romance, but it's certainly a series with a lot of feeling.
Narrator did a great job - none of the voices grated and I found it easy to listen to.

Good story but not a fav
I’m not sure I loved the story line of the book. I wanted to know more back story of the 2 worlds (red and silver) more description maybe. It was a good read but lacked something. Read 2 now not sure if I’m going to continue.

Not sure about the second book
I really enjoyed the first book but found myself wandering with the second. There was so much hate and negativity which is usually ok, but there was very little happinesses, very little positive relationship growth. Every one turned their back on Mare, sure, she could have made some better choices, but she’s 17, I just wish the author included some more recognition from her peers about all the amazing things she achieved, that would have lifted the mood at some points through the book. I’m unsure if I will continue to the next book.
