Is anybody out there?
After a long winter spent hunkering down in Wyoming, Bree, Nate, and the gang are back on the road. The harsh temperatures up in the northern regions might have decimated the undead scourge somewhat, but soon they have to face reality: it's not just zombies that are out there to hunt people down and kill them. For humanity to have a fighting chance to rebuild a semblance of civilization, everyone will have to work together - and resources are scarce. Someone will have to go out there and face the danger - and maybe find out what happened to the undead that were smart enough to flee the cold. Only the strong and smart have survived, making everyday life just a little more deadly for everyone.

I've just finished listening to book 5 of this series and am now in that depression that happens because there's no more (for now). I loved the entire series. And it actually gets better with more amped action with each book. Definitely recommend the series. Especially for others like me who like strong female protagonists with extremely minimal and non soppy romance.
"This series is getting better and better!"
I really do think this has becoming my favorite zombie series of all time. I love the accuracy of the science, the character development, the villains, and pacing. I finished this book in one setting the day it came out. I am probably going to read 4, I don't think I can wait for the audio book.
This is one of the first zombie books written with a female lead that didn't have me gritting my teeth. Bree is relatable, competent without perfection, and best of all evolving! She is growing with the series.
My favorite things about these books as both a Soldier and a scientist, is that both the combat and microbiology is done so well!
"If a feminist liberal wrote a zombie series."
I really tried with this series, but its just BAD! It seems to be written by a woman who is not only, NOT a pepper type but also doesn't appear to know ANYTHING about military service, firearms, or having a relationship with someone who does. The "romance" between the two main characters is borderline a "shades of grey" type of controlling without any substance.
It's just NOT good!
"Female lead in a zombie series? Awesome!"
I've really enjoyed all of this series so far....and looking forward to any upcoming books.
The main character, a female who's smart as a whip (no, I'm not 90 lol) , kicks ass as a sniper, swears like a trucker (and sarcastic as sh!t - which is awesome) and has the badass hot guy leader reluctantly wrapped around her finger.
She is by far not the only character, or person of interest to be drawn to though. There are great action scenes, fun interactions between characters, and fascinating storylines throughout the book(s).
Bree (main female) seemed extra moody and sarcastic this book though, which was annoying. She did seem back to herself by the end of the book, so fingers crossed it was just because of the situations she had been through.
Anyhoo...great series- fully recommend!
Loved the main character, nice change in that it is a woman, some nice twists to the zombie genre also
"Another great story"
I can't wait to listen to the next Chapter in this series. The story keeps getting better and better.
"Book great audible even better"
Yes. Reader really good for main character and does a great job with guy voices
Books stand on their own.
Super series! Really enjoy this author's works. Except. Bisexual lead character getting old. Author stuck this in maybe to titillate but it's a turn off IMO. Still 5 stars though for overall unique story.
really enjoyed this book great series and can't wait to purchase next one. the reader is easy to listen to
