Publisher's Summary

This box set includes the first three novels in the Jesse Sullivan series: award-winning novel, Dying for a Living, Amazon best seller, Dying by the Hour, and their companion novel, Dying for Her.

Called "smart, imaginative, and insanely addictive" by New York Times best seller Darynda Jones, this urban fantasy will thrill even the most die-hard urban fantasy fans.

On the morning before her 67th death, it is business as usual for agent Jesse Sullivan: meet with the mortician, counsel soon-to-be-dead clients, and have coffee while reading the latest regeneration theory. Jesse dies for a living, literally. Because of a neurological disorder, she is one of the population's rare 2 percent who can serve as a death surrogate, dying so others don't have to.

Although each death replacement is different, the result is the same: a life is saved, and Jesse resurrects days later with sore muscles, new scars, and another hole in her memory. But when Jesse is murdered and becomes the sole suspect in a federal investigation, more than her freedom and sanity are at stake. She must catch the killer herself - or die trying.

And that was only the beginning....

Interesting Concept

The story is quite interesting admittedly I have just listened to one book - but the performance is painful the reader sounds sooooo cheerful that it is grating on my nerves - her lover dies and the man who had been helping and sheltering most of her life also dies and the reader chirps away on with the story - no depth of feeling from her at all - such a shame I may opt to reading the books instead !!!!

Loved it!

This was a really good first three books. Clearly, it is not the only books in the series, however, while the ending does end on a cliffhanger, it is one where it gives you more of a choice as to whether you want to read the next book. In between the books, there is no extra bit where the narrator says that 'the first book has ended' but instead, the books just keep going forward. I am so glad I finished the whole thing because it left me with an awesome view on life and just the decisions a lot of people have to make. The series is about a bisexual female protagonist (Jesse) who is a part of 2% of the population that can resurrect from the dead. The books are the first two and it also has another book, but this book is more of a 2.5 book because it can be skipped, but it reveals some things from the previous books and gives an excellent insight into another character in the series. I really loved how the series adds science into the whole paranormal theme, proving the difference between them and 'normal' people. This is definitely a boxset that I would recommend if you are someone who likes explanations for things or if you are just looking for a good paranormal story to read. Enjoy!
