The highly anticipated release of the fourth novel in the Jesse Sullivan contemporary fantasy series.
In the wake of her handler's death, Jesse has never felt more alone. Her best friend is distracted by a new love. Her mentor Rachel is missing and her boyfriend Lane isn't returning her calls.
Worse, a Necronite with the ability to heal any wound wants to kill Jesse and absorb her power of pyrokinesis.
With little to hold her to Nashville, Jesse agrees to work as a freelance agent for Jeremiah Tate, a pharmaceutical tycoon in Chicago. Together they plot revenge against Caldwell, the mastermind responsible for the genocide of over 100,000 Necronites worldwide.
When Jeremiah fails to dominate Jesse and her pyrokinesis, tensions escalate, dividing her from her allies.
Then Caldwell gives Jesse an ultimatum she cannot refuse.

"I was on the edge of my seat!"
YES, yes ... a thousand times, YES!
I'd also recommend all the Jesse Sullivan books ... because they go together and should be listened to or read in order
This one though was very exciting.
Jesse is always my favorite ... I LOVE HER!
she is sarcastic and witty and always getting herself into situations where her wit and sarcasm won't help her one bit!
She's also a great friend and despite her past hurts she's caring and loving
Rachel and Gideon are pretty cool too
I love Hollie Jackson ..she really brings characters to life
Winston's death ... I can't say more
"The delivery was everything I expected and more."
The distinct interaction between the characters is what made the audio book so enjoyable. I have read it but loved the audible version even more.
When Jesse has to trust herself more than her angel while escaping the needle that she can save all of them.
This is a great example of her brilliant way to bring inflections into the characters allowing them to be heard separately even when the two characters are having a conversation.
The hunt is over, let the games begin.
This was a very enjoyable listen. I read the book several times before this and still found it amazing and full of the same thrills I felt during my first reading.
