Publisher's Summary

From Joshua Dalzelle comes the follow-up to the number-one best seller Warship. Captain Jackson Wolfe survived the initial incursion of a vicious alien species into human space...barely. He had assumed the juggernaut that had devastated three Terran systems was the herald for a full invasion, but for the last few years it has been eerily quiet along the Frontier. Jackson now struggles to convince the Confederate leadership the threat is still imminent and needs to be taken seriously. While powerful factions make backroom deals, he is desperate to find irrefutable proof that the invaders are coming, and if humanity expects to survive they must marshal their forces and make a stand before it's too late.

Who the heck is Sir Lester?

Pretty good space combat scenes, but the science on things like FTL and weapons was a little stale.

Not as good as the first book

Good story but I feel like the author took an interesting & multilayered main character, and wound back some of his intricacies to make him more 2 dimensional. Narrator did a good job of inserting some life into the dialogue.

Brilliant, utterly, enjoyably unputdownable.

Apologies if this comparison is odious to you but…………. if you have ever come across the full series of Patrick O’Brian’s wonderful stories of the career of Captain Jack Aubrey, then can have some idea of the quality of the writing in this series.
The narration is excellent and the action sequences are harrowing. I cannot help but give these books all the stars!
