Ever since the USS Walker came from another world war to defy the terrifying Grik and diabolical Dominion, Matt Reddy and his crew have given their all to protect the oppressed Lemurians. But with the Walker in desperate need of repairs just as the Grik's first general is poised to strike, Reddy is desperate.
With more enemies than ever before arrayed against them, the crew of the Walker needs new allies. That means combing the lethal wilds of Madagascar to find the Lemurians' fabled ancestors as well as the enigmatic dwellers east of the Pass of Fire. But what Reddy's crew unearths may be more than they can handle - discoveries so shattering that they could tilt the balance of the war in either direction.
But Reddy's greatest adversary is from his past: a madman named Kurokawa whose single-minded mission of revenge will shake the Alliance to its core and raise the stakes to the most personal and terrifying levels Reddy has ever faced.

"Series is getting even better"
For the past couple of books we've been focused more internally. This book expands this into a true operatic series. Warning there is a cliffhanger that will leave you waiting for the next in the series. If you have yet to start the series from the beginning I strongly recommend that.
"Little payoff for a long listen..."
I have to start by saying that l have enjoyed this series from the beginning. I'll keep getting these books as they are released. But like the last book in the series there is too much going on in the story and you never really get to sink your teeth into anything. The battle scene is good and reminiscent of the Battle of Midway from WWII. Missing is the character interaction and development that was so fun and prevalent in the first half dozen books. If possible I'd recommend readers ask Audible to put out an omnibus version of the last, this and the next book.
"It's incomplete, but I forgive him!"
I think this is an extraordinary series, in fact I'd like to see each book as a season of a mini-series, as long as the author retained creative control, so the script writers don't screw it up as they usually do and spoil it for readers who like it fine just the way it was written. It would be predominantly CGI anyway.
This book started a bit slow but did end up with plenty of action. The one thing about the semi-cliffhanger status is that we know there's another one coming up! The way this series is put together means unlimited scope for expansion and bringing in new characters and groups. It's a really excellent creation!
This series is well written and enjoyable. However, the rate of change, and incredible proliferation of different people is really straining incredulity. From sailing ships to modern steel destroyers in 3 years! The initial advances in technology was fun and believable. But the tools to make the tools to make the tools, all in three years? Hard to keep swallowing the expanations.
"An action packed story like the others"
It had a full range of emotions with the characters and their settings gave it real life
I wasn't too happy about the fate of the hospital ship but there were many memorable moments it the story
Mr. Dufris is a gifted reader who can bring a complex story to life with the many different characters Look forward to his next read
I never have that much time but yes, I could have listened to the whole thing then want it to go on the story line was that interesting
Please continue the series Mr Anderson you have alot of us hooked on DD Walker
"Good but too short."
Yes I said it. 17 hours but not much movement in the story line.. I hope for more next time.
"Still going strong"
After 10 books, you would think things would start to get stale. I assure you that is not the case. This book delivers the goods, like it's predicessors.
Offering new twists and turns. New sub plots, plety of character development, and even more world building.
I cannot wait till book 12 comes out, on the edge of my seat the whole time!
"Getting Too Big"
I have found that in the last few books that the story is getting so large that it's hard to include everything. Certain things aren't covered or barely covered. Either the books are going to have to get larger or some lose ends are going to have to get tied up. Not a big fan of cliff-hangers either. I still enjoyed it but almost dropped a star on Overall, Dufris narration is all thats keeping it at 5.
"The saga continues"
The story and characters continue to keep you wanting to find out what happens next. Great descriptive action and character interaction. As this story develops you see how much more complicated and difficult the Alliance's goal will be to achieve. So it looks like the end is a long way off. But that suits me fine; I could listen to this saga forever. I just wish Taylor could publish faster so I don't have to wait so long for the next book. I find that after having read all books back to back except the last two, I have a hard time being familiar again with all the characters. Outstanding series.
"I can't wait for the next novel in this series"
I love this series, the way it is narrated, can't wait for the next novel
