In this final book of the 299 Days series, The 43 Colonels celebrates the many "ordinary" men and women who did extraordinary things during and after the Collapse. Set in the chambers of the New Washington Legislature during a joint session of the House and Senate, Governor Ben Trenton honors Colonel Grant Matson and 42 other individuals who helped start the Restoration. From a personal trainer who became a spy disguised as a water boy, to a homeschooling mom who protected children's minds from Loyalist propaganda, to a young computer hacker who used his skills to get classified information to Oath Keepers, and a Special Forces operative who conducted some amazing missions, the stories of these modern-day Patriots, both heart-wrenching and inspirational, demonstrate how anyone can help in a revolution.

"Excellent Compliment to the Original Series"
Volume nine is the best of Glen's books so far. It is a great continuation of the storyline and is an awesome listen and read for anyone interested.
Based on the series it is great to see the last part of the character arcs in the series. Glen does an excellent job of rounding out each character nicely.
I have listened to Pierce's other work and I have liked everything he has done
I do not respond very emotionally to most books so I cant say I laughed or cried but this book definitely twists you up inside.
"The 43 Colonels! Brilliant."
This is the perfect end to the series as it pulls stories together from all over and from the people everywhere who helped through the collapse recorded in the book. A Role call of heroes. I got The 43 Colonels first as I'd read through all the others in the series. A Brilliant book end to the story line!
The other 9 books in the series, there really ins't anything else quite as practical and engrossing in the 'prepper fiction' space.
The roll call was the best part, as each individual was called forward for honor. Kevin Pierce sounded as if he knew each of them as the character did. A really great job!
Teh end. To be honest I've been in this series for a while now as each book has come out, It will be strange to be without the characters. they've become like friends!
I couldn't imagine how Glen Tate could top the first nine - but now I know. I love how he wrapped up the story with a bow here in book ten. Again, a great series, wonderfully executed!
"rambling, boring, wanted to like but couldn't."
299 days started out as a good series lots of potential but as it drug on I found the books to become repetitive and mired in juvenile descriptions of what a person with little to know experience or exposure to real life American war fighters see on TV and the idea that it was all about a look or a type of dress or gear was very lacking and worked to pull one out of the story. the biggest issue was when the main character starts hearing voices from God but it's described as " the outside thought" it becomes laughable and sophomoric with a touch of insulting like the author didn't want to say the main character was hearing from God to avoid the negative connotations that go along with hearing voices but instead was content to say the outside thought which was clearly supposed to be gods input on matters and then to decide in the final book to go ahead and address it as God felt like an epic waste of time if it's god thendon't avoid it because it's a story. overall save your money.
"Glen Tate does it again!"
He did a wonderful job wrapping up an excellent series.
Grant Matson, because he is a normal person thrust into extraordinary situations.
He did a great job and really kept me engaged the whole time.
The 43 Colonels, heroes of the new Republic!
It is amazing how Tate continues to keep topping himself. 43 Colonels was amazing!
"Unique and Wonderful addition to the series"
This is easily one of the best. It's fun to reflect on the characters and this book affords me that opportunity.
New Washington - A new hope.
Glen Tate’s 299 days The 43 Colonels is a unique and wonderful addition to the popular book series 299 days. Normally a book series will give you bits and pieces of a characters background but never takes the time to fully develop the richness that was in the authors mind while the book is being written. The Colonels brings that richness to the reader and lets us enjoy our favorite characters one more time. I would highly recommend this audio book to anyone who has read the series. It’s great to re-live the enjoyment I felt while reading this series for the first time.
"Outstanding conclusion to an epic series!"
I love the freedom and mobility of having the audiobook to listen to. It makes the work day fly by. Plus, I can put away a lot more books than just trying to find the time to read. It allows for serious multi-tasking!
This story is an awesome conclusion to the series. I've thoroughly enjoyed 1-9 and am still sad that it's over. I've told several people that I wish Glen Tate would do some spinoff stories on some of the character. Wish granted!
Kevin is amazing. He makes each character come alive even with the most subtle of modulation in his voice. My favorite is of course Grant Matson. The series centers around him and his evolution as a character is incredible.
This book like the others does induce a visceral reaction at times. Its both humorous and gut-wrenching. Glens ability to bring a reality to these situations is uncanny. The most unnerving thing actually is that if we think about it, this "fiction" is too close to home!
I hope that this isn't the last we've heard of Glen Tate! Even with The 43 Colonels, I hope to see more tales surrounding this subject of preparedness and hope. Glen brings the subject to life while neither candy coating nor glorifying what would truly be a tragic situation for our country.
"The 43 Colonels Will Whet Your Appetite"
It was a good wrap up and will definitely make you want to get the other nine books.
It's a really good intro for what may very well turn out to happen here in the very near future.
He brings it alive.
I’ve read the series and now being able to get them on audio is even better. And book 10 was a favorite for me although they're all great.
But even if you haven’t read or listened to any of the others, this book is a stand-alone and will definitely whet your appetite for the rest of the series.
And with what’s currently going on with the financial collapse right around the corner, you won’t want to wait to get prepared and find out how to survive the revolution.
The narrator is excellent and makes you feel like you’re sitting around the camp fire getting a real history lesson.
And you can definitely listen in the car with the kids . . . it’s all family friendly.
Enjoy! I certainly did.
I would have made it shorter
I have listed to this entire series. It was pretty good but redundant at times....
Kevin Pierce always does a great job!
Buy more non perishable.
Over all a good read...Just long winded.....
"Made it!! what a terrific book series"
what a terrific series something that everyone should certainly listen to and/or read. We definitely need America to wake up and prevent this from happening to us
When I first started this book, it sounded pretty good. And as the chapters and books progressed I learned several things. Congratulations to Glen Tate and his team on producing these books. A very good listen. I don't give out 5 star ratings, but this one earned it.
"a roundup well done"
This book actually made me tear-up and even cry a couple of times. I wasn't expecting such a reaction at all. The stories presented and the way they all are written, give a great finish to the story as a whole. Adding dimension and detail to the wider happenings of the changes we see in all previous books. It was great to be able to read it and re-live the moments.
"A book too far."
A clever way of filling out the book series.
I am not too sure that the 43 vinuettes truly extended the series as the drive and friends that so bravely made the previous books had so much colour and character .... I missed them.
