Master storyteller and essayist C. S. Lewis here tackles the central questions of the Christian faith: Who was Jesus? What did he accomplish? What does it mean for me?
In these classic essays, which began as talks on the BBC during World War II, Lewis creatively and simply explains the basic tenets of Christianity. Taken from the core section of Mere Christianity, this book provides an accessible way for people to discover these timeless truths. For those looking to remind themselves of what they hold true, or those looking for a snapshot of Christianity, this book is a wonderful introduction to the faith.

Lewis gets straight to the heart of what being Christian actually is. He hits the hard stuff swiftly and doesn't waste time. He uses solid logic around the issues he had as a believer and when he didn't believe. It's a fast listen and absolutely wonderful.
"A jewel from C.S. Lewis"
As a diehard fan of C.S. Lewis, I enjoy all of his books. This one, "What Christians Believe" is a concise review of the major doctrines of western Christianity - I never knew C.S. Lewis had written such a book. This little book covers what Christians believe in an entertaining, nonconfrontational, and informative manner. His simple, direct style makes some important concepts and ideas obvious, that otherwise had been dull and foggy. The narrator was excellent! His presentation was clear and soothing, but also lively and entertaining - it will never put you to sleep.
"Christianity? Find out why in 45 minutes!"
I was blown away by the faith and reasoning, by the eloquence with which the title topic is covered and all in such a short time. I selected many bookmarks of wonderful quotes. This is something to listen to more than once for sure!
Do you doubt your own faith or have a friend who is an atheist? This is a reassuring listen for you and a challenging listen for your friend. I think it's one of C S Lewis' best because of its brevity. It's like a mixture of fine ingredients that has been distilled down to a rich, delicious sauce. Taste and see!
"SHORT BOOK BUT WORTH A LISTEN"
I found this book very interesting and educational
It is a very short book (under 60 min) I was disapointed that it was not longer.
Some deep theology but presented in an interesting and clear maner.
It's pretty profound
"Rated on Content"
This was a tough listen for me on audio, but I will listen again. The content is true to C.S. Lewis and always an encouragement. He is able to present Jesus in a manner that cannot be argued.
"I give this to any one who asked me that question"
C.S. Lewis explains what we Beleive in a straight forward simple way as to not confuse the non believers.
"Ain't it so brothers!!! read it...listened to it ."
This was a surprise ..a very short read with facts upon facts of logic from a man that had been a full blown athesist...
"C. S. Lewis at his best."
I have listened to this several times and learn something every time. This is a concise description of the Christian tenets of faith. Beautifully written and masterfully read.
A beautiful classic. Insightful as only Lewis can be. Brings you inside your faith with a brilliant understanding. Amen all.
"Great Description of Christianity"
C.S. Lewis proves you don't need to leave your intellect at the door to embrace Christianity. This book provides a great overview of the meaning of faith.
"Fascinating and enlightening"
I found this book takes a lot of listening as complex concepts are explored; but it is so worth the while. Don't be put off by the slightly old fashioned language in places 'cos it was written in the 1940/50's? The explanations and insights provided are like sunlight breaking through a storm cloud or a muddy pool suddenly becoming crystal clear; not only is it enlightening but inspiring and answers questions you didn't even realize were bothering you. I cannot recommend it more highly and I have read and reread it many times. I am quite certain I will continue to do so in the future. It should even encourage one to get the paperback copy of the original which has a few more parts to it and provides more material for contemplation.
