Peter Scazzero learned the hard way: you can't be spiritually mature while remaining emotionally immature. Even though he was a pastor of a growing church, he did what most people do:
Eventually God awakened him to a biblical integration of emotional health, a relationship with Jesus, and the classic practices of contemplative spirituality. It created nothing short of a spiritual revolution, utterly transforming him and his church.
In this best-selling book, Scazzero outlines his journey and the signs of emotionally unhealthy spirituality. Then he provides seven biblical, reality-tested ways to break through to the revolutionary life Christ meant for you. "The combination of emotional health and contemplative spirituality," he says, "Unleashes the Holy Spirit inside us so that we might experientially know the power of an authentic life in Christ."

"Good, but . . . ."
There are a few things that I disagreed with based on his usage of Scripture in the Sabbath chapter.
I enjoyed the practical nature with which he was able to bring each of the issues presented to life.
There was no favorite character, but I did enjoy the authenticity of his wife.
I'm not sure how good of a movie it would be, but it would be interesting.
The amount of times the narrator says "quote" and "end quote" is enough to drive you bananas!! VERY distracting!
"Truly Life Changing"
I would recommend EHS to everyone. This is a book that forces your to dig up the past pains that continue to haunt you in your current decision making and future life. It helps you break free and make a change in the way you approach emotional health and spirituality.
"Quote end Quote"
The book is great, the principles found in the book are great. The Biblical truths the author pulls out can radically transform your soul through the work of the Holy Spirit.
But this book is hard to listen to. Buy the book and read it. Far too many Quote end Quote's throughout the book.
This book should be required reading for all believers. I will listen again to sharpen areas where I am weak.
"Awesome book for these critical days"
This book was more than eye opening. It reached my heart and mind and caused me to rethink how I'm going about not just ministry but life in general. Great book. I've listened to it several times.
"Essentials for your health"
This book hits the spot on how you can have better spiritual health. It's not a book to rush through but rather to take time and apply the different principals that are shared. I highly recommend this book and will be rereading it multiple times.
