Some of the greatest of life’s adventures can happen while you’re sound asleep. That’s the promise of lucid dreaming, which is the ability to alter your own dream reality any way you like simply by being aware of the fact that you’re dreaming while you’re in the midst of a dream. There is a range of techniques anyone can learn to become a lucid dreamer - and this audiobook provides all the instruction you need to get started. But B. Alan Wallace also shows how to take the experience of lucid dreaming beyond entertainment to use it to heighten creativity, to solve problems, and to increase self-knowledge. He then goes a step further: moving on to the methods of Tibetan Buddhist dream yoga for using your lucid dreams to attain the profoundest kind of insight.

An intelligent and thought provking book that offers insight into the world's we inhabit each day of our lives. As a long time lucid dreamer I found many correlates and truths in this book. Recent research supports the importance we gaining 'awareness' in periods of what we understand as sleep.
"Very useful even if it just to get a better sleep"
This book is a description of the process to meditation and how to apply it to dreaming. I found the instructions clear the author gets to the point very quickly. Even if you are not going to go through the whole program, I found much of the advice interesting and applicable better sleep in general.
This book will potentially help anyone who has trouble falling off to sleep or trouble with stress and sleep. I would definitely give it a try.
"Great techniques and background"
This book had some great ideas that I was able to apply on my first nights sleep after listening to a few chapters. the end of the book brings into light some philosophical considerations and helped me think through some ideas I have about the metaphysical nature of some dreams. I also recommend the app Awoken which asks you throughout the day "Are you dreaming." It's a great reminder. I usually try to use the technique of asking myself this when I see my hands but after reading this book have been trying to also ask when I walk through a door.
"horrible narrator, unbearably sharp noises in voic"
the narrators voice makes my ears hurt. listened to 5 minutes and doubting whether to pain it through the book or skip it completely. even equalizer that i use helps.
It is rare to come across an author with this level of depth. And the subject is mind blowing. I feel like I was just introduced to a new layer of reality. B Alan Wallace is a living master. I'm so excited to begin my exploration of lucid dreaming and dream yoga!
"Practical - covers How To and Reasons Why"
This is interesting and pretty thorough. I'll have to listen to it again in order to get more out of it - it's chock full of various techniques and all kinds of information about the techniques.
There's more Buddhist or various ancient meditative-practice foreign words than I am comfortable with, but maybe if I listen to this book 10 or 20 years down the road, those words and their definitions won't make my eyes glaze over.
The book is still an awesome presentation with excellent explanations throughout. Well worth several listens to absorb so many ideas.
Love B. Alan Wallace. He's a great dharma teacher. Why he didn't dictate his own book I don't know, but the narrator chosen absolutely doesn't get it. So sad I bought this. Can't get a refund cause I don't have a membership.
Will be very cautious in the future.
Seems quite divorced from the content of what he's reading.
Will get it as a Kindle.
Whatever the conflict was, it's a sad mistake to not have Mr. Wallace read his own book.
"Great for mind to stimulate lucid dreaming"
I have read book like Charlie Morley. He also is in mindfulness and Buddha. He did brilliant job to explain it to modern people however in this audio book I felt not engaged. The voice was not easy to listen to. Great stuff for those who are really into Shamanism. Listened through everything. To get some nuggets and insight. Wouldn't listen it for second time.
