This Bible-in-a-Year King James Version of the Holy Bible is organized into 364 daily audios. The King James Version of the Bible is the most influential and widely published book ever written. It has been translated into over 2,000 languages and is still the world's best-selling book every year. After its original publication in 1611, the King James Bible quickly became the standard for English-speaking Protestants. Its flowing language and prose rhythm has had a profound influence on the literature of the past four hundred years. English speakers around the world are praising this new recording of the King James Bible by British narrator Christopher Glyn, who draws on 35 years of experience as a Christian narrator and broadcaster to bring you this expressive reading of the King James Bible that captures the beauty and power of God's word in easy-to-understand language.

"Listen to the Bible in a Year"
There is some confusion on Audible about this title. The linked Amazon reviews are for a version of this book which also includes a monthly introduction, discussion of upcoming readings and things to ponder while listening. These monthly recordings are NOT included in this recording. Neither are there any directions or introduction. Because of this listening can be confusing at first. But don't let that stop you. With some searching I was able to find the Kindle version of the book on Amazon for $5.99. By downloading that book with this Audible recording it is possible to have the best of both worlds. I can read the monthly thoughts and discussion in print on my IPad and then listen to the beautifully read daily readings here on Audible. Of course--you may not care about the intros and in that case just listen to the book as it stands on its own.
The recordings are excellent. Masterfully and dramatically read by Christopher Glyn with short bits of music thrown in randomly. The way it works is that the 85 plus hour book has been divided into 10 parts to download and each part has been broken down into approximately 35-37 chapters. The chapters vary in length from 2-3 minutes to just over 20 minutes. You just listen to one of these "chapters" each day. The readings jump around through the Old Testament, New Testament and the Psalms. This breaks things up a bit. It feels to me that there are themes and connections between the readings that have been chosen to be grouped together. It all just seems to work beautifully once you have figured it out. So--if you've ever tried and failed or succeed repeated to read the entire Bible in a year I can recommend this recording as one method that is working for me. I find the additional print introductions helpful. This book has turned out to be a streamlined, simple to do and very positive addition to my daily listening.
"Mixed feelings on this awesome reading"
Yes, he is an amazing narrator.
Why are all the books mixed up? I wanted a straight reading of the Bible from cover to cover. But the books are all mixed up in 10 8.5 hours audios each, leaving no choice but to listen in the order dictated.
"Great! Outstanding narrator!"
For me this edition surpasses the written one. For Romans 10:17 says "So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (WEB)
I'm still listening and I like it all.
No, I haven't. But I sampled some audio fragments and decided this narrator to be the best. He's easy to listen to for long periods of time.
I'm touched by it as a whole. As long as I keep listening and really set my heart to it, that is.
I like this version because it's devided into segments of different bible passages. I really love the KJV archaic words. They're meaningful and above all, powerful.
"Not what I wanted"
A table of contents would have been helpful to discern if this version was truly what I was looking for. This is a good narrator with an excellent material but the configuration of the reading wasn't what I was looking for. :-(
"not worth the money"
love the bible but the program was not worth the money, clunky, jumps from book to book and chapter to chapter in no conceivable fashion.
I have been unable to download this book correctly. It goes back to the beginning every time I go to listen to it. Only parts of the first section have downloaded at ALL. Not made for success .!!!! Had to make a star rating to send this but it does no warrant a star in my opinion.
"this is not a 365 day reading plan"
the blurb says that this is broken into 365 audio plan. it's not, it's broken into 8 hour chunks and there is nowhere to indicate when to start each day and when to stop. You might as well call a printed book a 365 day reading plan and then leave it up to the reader to work out how to split their time. So here it is. the Bible and a big fat lie. hmmmm funny that.
if they created a 365 day reading plan then perhaps
the 8 hour chunks
