I found myself quite familiar with almost all the arguments presented here. It is a great resource in that it is simply unbiased facts presented in a simple to follow way. Great job.
One of the best resources I've seen/heard to prepare those not highly skilled in the art of intellectual debate, or for those that was to solidify their knowledge base and anticipate poorly thought out opposing arguments.
Concise and direct with good opportunity and direction as to where to go to further one's inquiry.
"An excellent overview of atheism."
There is always a tendency to project in a review, what you wish a book was rather then review what the book actually is. That's my dilemma here. I wish this book went into more detail and gave extra examples and maybe just provided a little more depth. That said, it's a very short book and it's very concisely illustrates all of the major reasons why people disbelief.
My only other criticism was that the reader seemed to rush (at least that is how it sounded to me). I read audiobooks constantly due to a hand problem that makes holding a book for prolonged periods painful. Thus I am very familiar with audiobooks and feel qualified to comment on this point. I just felt like he sounded rushed.
Overall, it's an excellent overview and I would recommend it to anyone looking to understand atheism or anyone questioning their own fair or lack thereof.
"The Best HandBook for any developing mind"
The point to point reasoning and logic of each line is perfect for me because it hit every single rebuttal i have ever heard from a christian or muslim i have argued against although i have many of my own refutes against their ill conceived logic this gave me so many more.
The most memorable part of the book probably had to be the parts of how religious people can stay religious even while they have doubts and real life understanding. I have always been confused about this and it always angered me to think about logical and reasonable people that i know that are still religious; but this gave me an insight that thoroughly explained it and i can now be more empathetic with my theist friends.
it was a tad robotic lol and i can imagine if i had one of my theist friends listen to it they would be able to understand it but it wouldn't surprise me if someone thought that's the way all atheists are. Robotic and logical
Yes it was although to retain it better i will be listening many more times.
Awesome book I'm so glad people like you are out in the world as well because although i know I'm not alone in my atheism i do feel lonely when i look at my friends and recognize I'm the only atheist but books like these remind me that i'm not unique nor am i alone in my disbelief.
"From religious to reason."
This book helped me solidarity what I've always known. I'm looking forward to his next books. As I learn more, I feel like a spell is being lifted.
"A good introduction to atheism and logic."
The narration by Dave Richards is good but I would have liked it if he spoke just a bit more slowly.
Armin has done a very good job of outlining and explaining the reasons why there is no god in a succinct, direct and easy to understand manner. I recommend this book to believers, non-believers and everyone in-between and around the edges. Love, Peace and Happiness to you all!
"Entertaining listen. Loved the narration."
Loved the length of this book. Nothing was drawn out. Very efficient at making its many important points. And funny! The narrator was perfect for the topic. He did incredulity quite well and at several points I had a good laugh. Highly recommend for anyone.
"A debate playbook"
When debating god's existence or lack thereof, things are bound to devolve quickly into a subjective mess. Most often, this can be attributed to the lack of a common framework (i.e. language) accepted by all of the debating sides. This book, seeks to provide such a framework, by way of rebutting 20 of the most common arguments for the existence of god, and it does so in a lighthearted fashion. The book can also be thought of as an introductory reading into the contentious subject, and as a refresher course for those who want to revisit many of its basics.
"concise and to the point"
good book and to the point. would recommend to anyone looking for a quick rundown on the atheist mindset.
There are no really new arguments here but it is handy to have most of the main ones gathered together. My warmest congratulations to the author for leaving a faith that is so dangerous to leave. I hope that on similar conditions, I would have had the courage to do the same. Deep respect.
"Great Narration and Inspiring Story"
Great arguments, non-confrontational rebuttals to common atheist misconceptions. Great for repeated listening. Recommend for all.
"Simple responses or complex ones. Both are given!!"
I have read many looks like this. Most try to go way over the top with in depth and complex explanations. I really enjoyed that the author offers a very down to earth, common sense explanation first that anybody could use in an argument and then he offers more depth and detail to elaborate.
The pacing of the book is fairly quick and I found myself pausing it a lot and rewinding to digest what he said. I don't think that's a bad thing because this book is crammed full of so much information I simply didn't want to miss anything.
There were several other arguments I had read in other books and I was glad to not see them repeated here.
I recommend this book to anybody who is willing to take an honest look at their religion or anyone who has already decided to step away.
"Good Summay poor narration"
God exists in people's minds
He went too fast, sounded like reaing the news - no time to digest what is said - a book like this should be at least 4 hours naration.
Good book - good summary and very wise reasoning and insights
"Straight to the point"
Very useful book that gets the point out logically and efficiently. I think the author's story is worth reading first and it might have been even better if the author had narrated.
"Very pleased with content and narrator."
the simple arguments made were concise and very well laid out. this is a light hearted and logically flowing book. a pleasure to listen to the narration for me, i thought this was a good balance between informative and entertaining to hear such common fallasies obliterated so eloquently.. although for some readers it may appear self righteous, i thought it was fine. look forward to reading (or listening to) his other books.
"A great introduction to the arguments against god."
I think this is a great book for those of use who know why we don't believe in god but are not very good at articulating it to people in discussions on the subject. It gives clear, concise answers and information which can be easily understood..
The only negative is that the narration was a bit rushed.
"speedy gongalez-no way!"
Yes-if I knew they were an atheist like me.
The breakdown of the arguments.
No way-I reduced the narrator speed on my Fire!
No-it benefits from contemplation and reflection not speed.
Like a previous reviewer wrote, this would have benefited with a slower reading!
"A very enlightening book"
l really enjoyed this book, having only in recent years set aside my indoctrinated past and dared to think objectively and to doubt all that is instilled into most of us as children.
I would urge anyone who has "doubt " to give this book a try.
