"Thanks to Audiblie"
This speech was very good. This speech was short and to the point. Very motivational. Thanks to Audiblie for a free copy. I hope this isn't the only one.
A great piece of history and the beginning of a new era!! Highly recommended
"Hope at last!"
I want to thank Audible for having this speech available. I was one of many who missed it. I hoped the news service would show it again later in the night - and they didn't (not even CNN).
Reading President(!) Obama's speech in the newspaper is nothing compared to actually listening to it. He reminds me a lot of John Kennedy, who was also an eloquent speaker. He gives this ailing country much hope in his words. It's been a long time since I have felt hopeful that this country will recover from its many woes and that we, as a nation, can help President Obama in its recovery - Yes, we can!
May his four years in office be good and safe ones for him, his family, his administration, and us all.
When I listened to the President's inaugural address, I had chills. Listening to it again made me realize how far we've come as a Nation. We still have a long ways to go for equality for all, but we're getting there.
A great speech!
"Good, not Great"
With all the hype he couldn't possibility live up to expectations, but it is refreshing to see an elected official at least trying.
While many experts have criticised the address for its lack of a central theme, it is still a wonderfully compelling look into the inspirational Obama and how he envisages his early days of the presidency.
"Not the history make I was hoping for."
Nothing earth shattering, no direct solutions just a lot of Hollywood clich?s. I wish him and most of all this country the best; at least it is a new direction. He is no Reagan!
All I can say, is listen to this speech and then download and listen to Ronald Reagan's, and then compare how much of the promises Reagan kept as opposed to Obama. Don't get me wrong he said many things in that speech I agreed with, but he lied about most everything he said. And one thing that really ticked me was how he said, "America is a Christian, Muslim, Jewish...Nation." When did Muslim rise to the rank of 2nd? I have no doubt that he would have listed Muslims first, but didn't want a riot day one.
"Barack Obama Inaugural Address (1/20/09)"
If you missed out on Obama's inaugural address, you can download it here for free. The inauguration speech echoes a lot of the goals and ambitions which Obama discusses in his 'The Audacity of Hope' book. I listened to the address again after finishing 'The Audacity of Hope' (which is also narrated by Obama) and seemed to gain a deeper understanding of the man and his mission after doing so. Interesting!
