Story
Lord Lysander Blackstone, the stern Duke of Montcroix, has only one interest: increasing his considerable fortune. After a series of betrayals, he keeps his emotions buried deep. Money, after all, can't break a man's heart—or make promises it can’t keep. Story
Nina Finch isn't suited for a life of crime. Raised by her art-forger brother, she can paint like Botticelli. But she'd so much rather be baking gooseberry tarts. She finally has the money she needs to open her own bakery. Unfortunately, her brother's carelessness lands her—and their forgeries—directly under the nose of London's most discerning art critic, Alan De'Ath. De'Ath knows the paintings are fake.

Story
Lady Vesper Lyndhurst is beautiful, clever, and popular. Afforded every luxury as a duke’s daughter, she fills her days with friends, intrigues, and a self-professed knack for matchmaking. She may have sworn off love for herself, but she is rather excellent at arranging it. Faced with an insolvent estate, the Duke of Greydon has no choice but to return to England in a final attempt to revive his family’s fortunes. He’s been gone for years, happy to have escaped his mother and the petty circles of the ton. To his dismay, not much has changed, including the beautiful heiress next door.

Evie Harlow is quite content running the quaint little bookshop she inherited from her father…or so she convinces herself anyway. Out of options, Rhys returns to his ancestral home on the moors of Devonshire, expecting anything but a chance at redemption in the arms of a beautiful innkeeper who dares him to take on the demons of his past - and the sweet temptation of a woman’s love.
Publisher's Summary
She's finally met the man of her dreams. Only one problem: he lives in a different century.
How far would you travel for love?
A mysterious artifact zaps Isabelle Rochon to pre-Victorian England, and suddenly her love of historical authenticity collides with the reality that she's a modern-day girl. But when a thief steals her card case, she determines to retrieve the time-traveling artifact. Now she must hunt down the case, navigate the pitfalls of stiff society London, conceal her time-traveling origins, and resist her growing attraction to Lord Montagu, a viscount so hot he curls her shower-loving toes.
Lord Montagu is resolved to avenge his sister and has no time for dalliances, despite the appeal of the strange but lovely Colonial. However, when his scheme for revenge requires a respectable match, he convinces Isabelle to masquerade as his fiancée. But he did not bargain for Ms. Rochon being his intellectual match or the irresistible attraction.
Isabelle thought all she wanted was to return home, but as passion flares between them, she must decide when her true home, and her heart, lies.
Set in 1834 London, this time travel historical romance features a small cast of historical characters, including Ada Byron, Lord Byron's daughter, and Charles Babbage, inventor of the Difference Engine. It explores the often overlooked scientific developments of pre-Victorian London.
With a heroine caught between the Regency and Victorian eras, find out why USA TODAY calls this time travel romance "a delicious twist on historical drama and romance."

Fantastic
Fantastic story, truly enlivened by stellar narration.
This was my first foray into this author’s writing and HR romance time travel so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but WOW, I loved every chapter and cannot wait to listen to the other books in this series. Am glad Mary Jane Wells narrates this series otherwise I’d never have stumbled across it. I absolutely recommend.
P.s. I was momentarily confused by dates referenced in the epilogue but soon remembered the ‘Back to the Future’ Marty McFly effect of the future likely altering when the past is tainted by visitors of another time.
