Paul Noble is a genius with a higher IQ than Einstein. Despite this, he still struggled with language learning at school. He found himself feeling ‘confused, incapable and unable to really say anything’. As a result of his negative early experiences, Paul has come up with a groundbreaking new method of language teaching that removes the need for months of study. With Paul Noble, everyone really can speak a language.
Part 2 of the course covers:
A native-speaking French expert helps Paul to deliver the course and to perfect your pronunciation. No complicated grammatical explanations, no rote memorisation, no writing - no stress. Learn over 6,000 words in no time at all and - most importantly - learn how to make your new vocabulary work for you. (Use the accompanying booklet as a reference and revision tool.)

Gives a lot of practice on the practical of getting around in a French speaking country. I asked my daughter, a high school student who is very smart and has been taking French for five years, a few of the questions from this series and she couldn't come up with the answer. She said it was too complicated from the French she learned well in school. So that made me feel justified in spending the time. Feel if I get through the third and fourth series of four - which I believe is equivalent to the 12 CDs- I will be very prepared to interact on a basic level in a French speaking place. This series was a bit over three hours, but it probably took at least six for me to get through. However, I have limited time and would have to go back a few minutes each time because I had forgotten the last things where I left off. (He does say to go back if you are struggling a lot with something because the more you hear it, the more it gets reinforced.) Great teacher if you do as instructed and stop and think before you speak instead of letting it tell you the answer.
"Paul Noble is a wonder."
By far these language courses made by Paul Noble and put out by Harper Collins are the best I imagine possible in a strictly audio format. He is so bright and at the same time so calm and reassuring. The native female helping him with examples complements him wonderfully. This is the easiest way to learn a language. Pair this with online drills like Duolingo and a video-chat tutor, as well as some French TV and you'll feel competent in the language in relatively very little time. I can't wait to move on to the other languages in this series. The prospect is not daunting now at all, but rather something I'm addicted to like my favorite rock band's new album.
"excellent french starter course"
this is my second product of Paul's that I've used to learn french, I use it in the car everyday and I'm super happy with my ability to speak and understand french after only two weeks. I'm buying the next one right now.
"Beginner learning fast"
Very intelligent method of teaching. I'm learning French very efficiently with this audiobook. I started studying about a month ago and so far this is my most productive resource.
Best French language instruction on the market! I just wish he would come out with a Level 4 and 5.
"The Best Language Lesson I've Ever Come Across"
I would highly recommend this course to anyone who would like to learn or improve their French. I've listened to many 'Learn French' audio lessons, read books, tried Rosetta Stone and even taken classroom lessons. I learned a bunch of French vocabulary and phrases, rules of French grammar and how to conjugate verbs but was still unable to have a real conversion in French. This course was a whole new learning experience. It's covered things that I didn't learn anywhere else and filled-in many gaps in my knowledge. And as great as the course's content is, the real magic is in how the material is presented. Paul Noble is a Master Teacher who thoroughly understands how people learn. He presents the material in a way that makes learning effortless. No studying or memorizing of any kind. A person just need listen and follow along and they can fully absorb everything covered after 1 or 2 listens. And Marianne (the native francophone who speaks the phrases) is perfect. She speaks with a nice, clear voice and is invaluable in helping with pronunciation.
Surprised and delighted over just how helpful this course has been. My French conversation skills have sky-rocketed in the last few weeks, and I've only completed Parts 1 & 2 ! I'm looking forward to starting Part 3.
Paul noble does a fantastic job of teaching languages. I love the approach he takes. We learn by being constantly exposed to things instead of deliberately trying to memorize. I grew up in a Spanish speaking household and learned English at a very young age. I don't remember learning English at all. I just remember being in front of other English speaking kids and I started speaking it. I can relate to this approach because it's how I learned English very young. I know a child's developing brain is different of that of an adult. But the approach for learning a language is, in my opinion, the perfect way to learn a language. I recommend Paul noble to any friend trying to learn a language.
easy to learn . Narrator 's gentle voice very helpful in learning . Will recommend it .
"Great review and very helpful"
His method is so accessible that it is easy to learn and to retain new concepts and to remember my French learned long ago. I feel much more confident than I did before using these audio sessions.
"Best language learning tool!"
This is the best resource I've encountered for learning French. It has really helped me with speaking more comfortably and understanding the structure of the language. If only there was more to the series!
This is the best French audio I've used - it's really clear and easy to follow. Paul anticipates some of the stumbling blocks typically found with learning French and explains these really well. This is a really good platform for further study - I only wish I'd bought the complete course at the start.
i have studied French for years and these lessons made everything at last come together.
"An effective way to learm"
A step by step approach with lots of revision as part of the course. This works very well for me.
"Very useful course"
Great for revision of French grammar and sentence building. Excellent explanations and great with the authentic French lady for the correct pronunciation.
I learnt french at school, but never really understood it as well as I do now , I like Paul's method , perhaps I just had didn't like my teacher's method back then, but I am way more confident with my french speaking right now .
Great way to construct sentences !
Very fast way to learn French , easily explained.
Must listen to volume 1 first then this volume reinforces it!
I feel like I have learnt a lot from listening to these audiobooks BUT there are some things which have made it frustrating and detracted from the experience which would be really easily remedied. I am writing this review in the hope that the publisher will take note!
1. There are occasions when the gap between Paul asking a question and the answer being given is non existent - seriously frustrating when you want to think it through and try to answer for yourself but don't even have time to reach for the pause button before she has blurted out the answer. REALLY ANNOYING!
2. I really resent the few occasions when Paul asks a trick question so I formulate an incorrect answer as I feel like I am reinforcing bad information by formulating that answer. I would prefer an explanation of the exception and then to be asked a question.
3. Most importantly, what I would give for a workbook or a transcript, or anything?!!? To me to learn a language you might as well also learn how to read it, write it etc or at least have a vague understanding of what it looks like e.g. the different verb endings, if you have just listened to the recordings you will be virtually unaware of all of the different verb forms. It will only help not hinder you. I gather if you buy the CDs you get a book of some description but no one seems to have thought through selling the book separately so that those of us living in digital 2014 can also participate.
3. There are a few moments when things are not explained. Someone who is not intimately familiar with either french or with the recordings needs to listen as a lay person and point out the loose ends.
To any would be french speakers I do recommend this but would suggest you don't give yourself any grand ideas about listening in the car, whilst washing up etc and becoming a fabulous bilingual multitasking have it all kind of human. I tried that but found it totally ineffective. I have made about a thousand times more progress by actually sitting down and giving it 100% of my attention with a notepad, pen and most importantly google (to sort of bodge compensation for the lack of supporting text).
"Learn French with Paul Noble"
The logic behind the method of learning is good. Slowly it introduces and familiarises you with new useful phrases and sentences that you can start changing depending on your needs. It works if you are using it as a backup for learning.
CONS: the tone of the book is far from interesting, it becomes very mechanic. Additionally, there's only one french speaking person throughout the whole CD.
