Publisher's Summary

Theatre of the Mind traces its origins to Dr. Maxwell Maltz - a world-famous plastic surgeon who discovered the incredible power that existed in a person's self-image.

Through his research, he realized that the real source of people's issues and concerns was not of their outward physical appearance, but how they thought about themselves.

Dr. Maltz's principles of Psycho-Cybernetics have inspired and enhanced the lives of more than 30 million people throughout the world. Psycho-Cybernetics moved human development out of the realm of wishing, hoping, and inconclusive techniques, and into the realm of predictable, positive results.

Matt Furey has spent his life studying, applying, and benefiting from the principles of Psycho-Cybernetics. Through his engagement with these powerful principles, what started as a severe personal crisis turned into a lifetime complete with realized expectations and fulfilled desires. In Theatre of the Mind, Matt shares the ideas, techniques, and strategies that have helped him reached the highest levels of personal achievement and satisfaction, and can do the same for you.

Dr. Maltz coined the phrase "Theatre of the Mind" to represent a place you can mentally go to in order to strengthen your self-image and, ultimately, your life. It's a powerful internal guidance system strengthened by using your creative imagination. The more you use this system, the more you will know the meaning of the saying, "What you want, wants you."

  • Silence your inner critic once and for all
  • Make what was once difficult... easy
  • Trust your success instinct
  • See yourself with "kind eyes"
  • And so much more!

    "Very Disappointing"

This Author speaks in very grandiose terms which undermines the impact of the message. He regularly states points as being 'effortless and instant' that will 'completely and forever' change your entire life when really what he means is that they require time and practice and will improve your life.

He constantly uses 'and' as a speaking pause to fill gaps between his thoughts. This is very agitating, unprofessional and actually annoying as it suggests that he is not reading the book exactly or worse... There is no book and he is winging as he goes along.

Over all the message is lost as he often goes on tangents whilst half way through a thought which means we regularly don't hear the information required to learn the lesson.

There are a number of other books with the same information but that are written by someone who passed Literature lessons at school

    "Powerful information!"
Would you consider the audio edition of Theatre of the Mind to be better than the print version?

I Really enjoyed hearing Matt tell the stories of his life.

What other book might you compare Theatre of the Mind to and why?

The other book I would compare this with would be psycho-cybernetics.

What does Matt Furey bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

You get to" hear" how Matt applied the principles he teaches in his own life.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The Moment that really moved me was hearing how Matt was able to break the barriers in his own mind and earn over 120 thousand dollars in one month.

    Any additional comments?

This this book is worth way more than one credit!

This book really broke down the concepts of how to achieve what you want in small bite-sized steps.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked his recommendation to think of a happy time in the past to put yourself into a happy frame of mind.

Have you listened to any of Matt Furey’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No

What did you learn from Theatre of the Mind that you would use in your daily life?

    Breathe, breathe, breathe!
I also liked shadow boxing. What a great idea!

    Any additional comments?

There was a little bit of repeat; I think I heard the same personal stories twice. But, I didn't mind; the stories were interesting. Overall, I liked his simple approach to self-improvement.

    "Authentic Science of Achievement"

I am sat on an Air Norwegian-flight from London Gatwick to Malaga Southern Spain. It's March & this Sunday is Mothers Day.

But the real obstacle to achieving success is my mind. Why do I say that?

First, we all know what to do but we don't do what we know. And there lies the first problem. Theatre of Mind is helping me strengthen how I feel about myself.

As a result I now visualize my winning moments before thinking of new goals.

Second, after walking backwards on Los Boliches beach last week, another of Furey's excellent and little know brain power techniques, I was stunned by how my head entered a new sensation I had never experienced before.

And believe me after owning night clubs for ten years, I thought I had felt every buzz under the sun, but never before this natural high😉

Third & final breathing techniques. Matt demonstrates that tension robs our success. His breathing techniques are some of the best, most natural and stimulating. I can say that because I have meditated for over 55 hours in total over the past two years. My Headspace App keeps score.

I am buying a CD version to give to my tram & sending copies to Marketing Pirates of Dentistry members.

My brain, breath and attitude will no longer be neglected fir the sake of how to content. Thank you Furey!

    "Outstanding "

When I finished this audio book, I did something that I've never done with an audio book before; I went back to Chapter 1 and started my second listening of the material. What more can be said? it was simply an outstanding and life changing book that can't be digested with a single exposure. I'm certain that this book will be one that i"'ll listen to many more times in the future.

Would you consider the audio edition of Theatre of the Mind to be better than the print version?

    Didn't read it.

Would you be willing to try another one of Matt Furey’s performances?

Probably not. He's a terrible narrator. Boring and monotone.

What did you learn from Theatre of the Mind that you would use in your daily life?

Nothing I hadn't learned from Dr Maltz's book

    "Life changing advice"

This guy knows what he is talking about. I have used his advice about breathing when I am in the gym. I am pushing more weight than before; yet finding it easier.
The great thing about Matt's advice is that it can be used in any part of your life. I am starting to use these principals in my business ventures & I can't wait to see the results. There is so much more in this book for anyone who is open minded enough to try.

Would you try another book written by Matt Furey or narrated by Matt Furey?

    No.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

He reminded me of someone who just likes to talk, and talk and talk about himself but never got to the point.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Theatre of the Mind?

The boring stories that did not go anywhere.
