    "Can't wait to tidy!"

Great read for anyone who feels they have too much clutter in their home and are looking for an effective solution of making space in their home and their lives for things that bring them joy. I've already started the Kon Marie method and love the results!

"interesting, and an easy "read" (or listen)"

this book was interesting to listen to. I very much enjoyed the first few chapters though as it went on it got more and more kooky as far as what the author believes about inanimate objects. I'm an open minded person to a point but I definitely cannot bring myself to believe that my socks have feelings. however, I was able to take from it many good points, and I also connected her interesting view on things, to my own belief that we should appreciate everything we have and treat our items with respect. the information on actual tidying itself, was very good. even if you think you might disagree with her almost spiritual approach towards non-living things, I'd still recommend.it,it's worth reading this book for the great perspective on how to get your house in order. I still got a lot out of the book. the narrator was great, easy to listen to, even relaxing.

"Some unique ideas that make sense"

I have to admit that some of Marie's ideas made me laugh or roll my eyes but she makes a good case for them and they are quite different to anything else I've read about decluttering and organising so I'm willing to give them a try. The book was actually a delight to listen to, Marie's unique, eccentric & fun personality shine through along with the great practical advice.

"You've got to be ready for change"
Would you recommend The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying to your friends? Why or why not?

I got this book on a whim, we currently have like zero storage space in our flat but use the garage as a dumping ground. I had grand plans of reorganisation and getting my ship' together and this book fitted nicely in with that idea.

I think i was probably only at the beginning of my making a change journey, so as such some of the stuff i found a bit too "far out there" for me - for example I skipped the whole chapter on how to fold things properly. I'm not just not ready to embrace the method fully!

At the same time there was lots of useful info like how to part with your junk, how to organise and store. I've since started getting rid of a lot of my old things that I otherwise would of clung onto, so it had enough impact.

What about Lucy Scott’s performance did you like?

Her voice is hypnotic - the book would not have been as good without her narration.

    Any additional comments?

First half was better than the second. Second half sounded a bit kooky like "saying hello to your flat" and "thanking your shoes" before you put them away.

What an amazing book! Far more than how to clean and organise your things but how to tidy your mind and live more happily. Easy to listen to although I would've preferred a more Japanese accented narrator.

    "Yes, it is LIFE CHANGING"
Where does The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The best so far - it has made the biggest impact in the shortest amount of time.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was amazed at the claims she made about her former clients - complete change of life, no repeat offenders, but as I continued to listen it all made so much sense.

    Any additional comments?

I had heard about this book and always wanted to read it. I am beyond glad that I did. I was riveted, and I am halfway through my tidying journey, which has already made a wonderful impact on my life.

    "Life-changing."
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to a friend who has too many things and too little "life". The author is telling about "the life-changing magic of tidying up" and I feel like almost every adult needs to know more about it.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It was definitely the book I wanted to listen in one sitting as I wanted to follow all the advises as soon as possible!

I loved it! It is very enjoyable. Great narrator, good style. I am thankful Mari Kondo has put her experiences compiled and explained in practical and comprehensive manner while explaining the most simple and best method on tidyng. Indeed, one can be able much joy and peace in typing this way in particular. I downloaded this audio book on Friday and have just finished listening to it today. I started using Kon Mari's method right away through the narrative. I have yet to finish the task of tidying but I already feel so refreshed.
I recommend this book 100% I will gladly extend to my parents all that I've learned through this course. Thank you.

    " Felt like a self-assertive autobiography "

I was looking forward to the hyped "domestic wisdom" of the book. I was however, disappointed after the first chapter. While the book starts you off with a very motivational chapter, it gets very repetitive and pushy right after that. I had to power through to finish the book infact because the material was beginning to sound so stretched out and unnecessarily lengthened. The narrator did an amazing job in every aspect, but the material *of* the book was intolerable due to the amount of boasting and self-assertion that was overbearingly repeated over and over again. All in all, I walked away with just two benefits: motivation to complete a decluttering process I had already started and a new way to fold and arrange clothes in drawers which I find to be aesthetically pleasing. If you wish to take tips and pointers, I would recommend one of the summaries available on Audible or hopping onto youtube for a quick search on decluttering the Marie Kondo way. You will get everything you need to know from either minus the boring stories, insufferable reptitiveness, and bragging.

    "read it at last!"
Would you consider the audio edition of The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying to be better than the print version?

Bought the book weeks ago but it took me getting it on Audible to get me started. Finished it in two days and have since filled my car with old clothes and books - home already looks and feels better - looking forward to carrying on decluttering tomorrow.

    "A different approach to tidying"

I purchased this book as it's sparked my curiosity as I am always tidying and was hoping for a miracle. I started applying the methods detailed in the book to organise my home whilst still reading the book and was pleasantly surprised to how it made me feel about my possessions. The book is well laid out, easy to follow and I would recommend to anyone who wants to declutter their home. The author takes you through the process in small stages and it is actually enjoyable!

    "Useful tips, worth a read"

Good tips on how to focus on genuinely clearing clutter and reassessing the value and sentiment we place on so many things we feel we can't part with, but are ultimately deadweight to our lives and homes. I disliked the use of 'throw it away' that she stressed so much - please recycle and drop off at charity shops as and where you can!! It's also originally a Japanese book so has some text specific to them but not too much. I've already started to Marie Kondo my house so it must've sparked something!!!
