"If you want to fuel your family, your career, your team, and your organization with spirit, listen to this audio book...Thanks, Jon, for pumping us up and making sure we get on the right bus." (Ken Blanchard, Co-author of The One Minute Manager and Leading at a Higher Level)
I like this book because we can all use the reminder that our life is what we make it to be. The message was positive and relatable. Having it on audio book also meant I could get on with chores around the house and still take in the story. I managed it easily over the weekend. Worth listening to or reading.
"Too Painful to Listen to"
The general idea is ok. You should be positive. ok, got it, done. I've just summed up the book. Not a bad premise for a book but wow.
Absolutely horrible writing skills. I mean this was killing me to get through it. really the writer just did not have any ability to make a realistic scenario. All of the characters were horrible sitcom stereotypes that had really bad dialog. I could not imagine a single one of these conversations happening in real life.
The narration was also over the top and horrible. Just stereotypical voices and mannerism not even worthy of a show on the Disney Channel.
The premise was simple and could have been good if it was just a book and didn't try to go for this horrible fable. Just bad.
Honestly the counter to this would be the Five Dysfunctions of a team. Same basic concept but MUCH better delivery.
"What a waste of time"
Nothing new. A collection of worn out advice; "you need vision, focus, enthusiasm, purpose and love! plus few other trite advice. It's as though we have all been waiting for the author to tell us that to succeed you need enthusiasm! like there is a switch that you can just flick on!
Why anyone need to write a whole book when a small article would be an overkill is beyond me. Save your money and 3 hours of pointless listening.
"The Energy Bus"
Really enjoyed this book. The principles and story are simple and maybe some you have heard before, but I still think they are powerful. They have been put together in a fun and engaging fable. Also, I found the issues addressed rang true to real work situations.
I loved this book. The tips are simple, yet relevant, doable, and sensible. Jon Gordon as the narrator works, he has an uplifted, energetic, enthusiastic delivery that fits with the book without going over the top.
"Painful to listen to"
The "stories" read like a bad sitcom with a lack of creativity. I stopped listen 30 minutes in.
Stops in the middle, super annoying not to be able to finish listening to it.
"Cringe worthy narration"
The book is told in a story which is an interesting take, however it just makes me feel uncomfortable to listen to. The main character has a pretty average story, but that bus driver..... It's borderline racist!
It's hard to tell if it's the writing or the narration but I would recommend a complete overhaul on the audiobook.
"Just terrible and very painful to hear"
I'm only listening to this because this is my book club's pick. I have no idea why. I'm trying so hard to finish listening to it for the book club review. It's boring. Nothing new at all. Nothing profound. Stupid story to make his point come across. I think it might be better without the bus story and all the stereotypical characters. There's no way to save this book because the material is old and many has written on it.
Don't write the book
All of them
Waste of my time
I loved the book it makes you think about your life and what everything means.
Definitely to be listened again, everytime needing an inspiring and uplifting, an effective tool for cheering up and fighting back.
"I'm a winner..."
Loved this book! I can't wait to read Jon's other books. George's story has lit my soul a light
Love the way Jon constructs and delivers his audible books.
I have also read The Positive Dog and The Seed and they never fail to make me feel more enlightened and JOYOUS
"The Energy Bus"
Very easy listerning but memorable. The ten steps stay in your head and the personal motivational tools were simple but effective. I enjoyed The Energy Bus and would recommend to anyone needing to boost either themselves or their team.
