What if everything we think we know about how the world works - our ideas of love, education, spirituality, work, happiness, and love - are based on brules (bullsh*t rules) that get passed from generation to generation and are long past their expiration date?
This book teaches you to think like some of the greatest nonconformist minds of our era, to question, challenge, hack, and create new rules for your life so you can define success on your own terms.
The Code of the Extraordinary Mind is a blueprint of laws to break us free from the shackles of ordinary life. It makes a case that everything we know about the world is mostly decided not by rational choice but instead by conditioning and habit. And thus most people live their lives based on limiting rules and outdated beliefs about pretty much everything - love, work, money, parenting, sex, health, and more - that they inherit and pass on from generation to generation.
But what if you could remove these outdated ideas and start anew? What would your life look like if you could forget the rules of the past and redefine what happiness, purpose, and success mean for you?
Not Just a Book but a Movement
Blending computational thinking, integral theory, modern spirituality, evolutionary biology, and humor, personal growth entrepreneur Vishen Lakhiani provides a revolutionary 10-point framework for understanding and enhancing the human self. He developed this framework based on his personal experiences, the five million people he's reached through Mindvalley, and 200 hours of interviews and questions posed to incredible minds, including Elon Musk, Richard Branson, Peter Diamandis, Ken Wilber, Dean Kamen, Arianna Huffington, Michael Beckwith, and other legendary leaders.
The 10 Laws of an Extraordinary Life
In a unique fusion of cutting-edge ideas, personal stories, irreverence, and his brilliant teaching style, Lakhiani reveals the 10 powerful laws that form a step-by-step process that you can apply to life to shed years of struggle and elevate yourself to exceptional new heights. This book challenges conventional ideas of relationships, goal setting, mindfulness, happiness, and meaning. Lakhiani combines computational thinking with personal growth to provide a powerful framework for recoding yourself and replacing old, limiting models that hold you back with new, empowering beliefs and behaviors that set you on the path toward an extraordinary life - a life of more happiness and achievement than you might have dared to dream possible.

Really obvious, usual self-help advice most people have already come across, but with constant name-dropping and self-advertising. Was painful for me to finish. Sorry.
The lack of substance and authenticity. The naming dropping of other leaders without any substantial, original message is just tiresome.
All about his sort of successful stories, what level of people he met. blablabla.
Nothing. All old stuff from other books.
I just didn't get it.
Fabulous book, incredible support material and online course to accompany the book. The meditation alone is amazing.
Every chapter was better than the last there is no memorable moment as they all were
The 6 phase meditation is a game changer.
Grab the book and then buy copies for your friends and workmates
Any actionable content in the book
not write it
repetitions!! Each chapters is mainly spent introducing further chapters or recapping the little content in the actual chapter
A road map to more fully understanding why we do what we do, and more importantly, offering a simple process by which we may choose to operate, to regain control over our lives and flourish in LIFE.
"Anything but Ordinary"
Brace yourself for a workable concise approach to personal growth. The author covers common barriers to personal growth with true insight and impact. The methods are updated from a perspective of "the shoulders of giants". He has personally developed a workable largely logical system for intentional personal growth.
If you listen to/read this book you are well on the way to a kinder view of life and it's opportunities.
On the downside he coined a phrase that is meant to suggest personal strength. It is in my opinion similar to comedians using vulgarities for laughs. Unflappable connotes the message and was already in my Thesaurus.
There is a very clear and evident seduction to visit the website of his company for additional information. There you will be offered enrollment to costly seminars. The points made in the book should suffice for all but the most "uncertain travelers".
"Just a 10 hour advertisement for the $1000 program"
It's not truly a program or any sort of "help" book but is, instead, just an advertisement for the paid resources on the authors website. It's like a rap song. He spends the book saying how great and rich he is to gain some credibility to refer you to the paid programs on his website.
Offered some of the program, even a shortened version so I could learn something or try his ideas.
It goes quickly, his voice is fine.
Most of the anecdotal stories that seem to just be excuses to drop some names to impress the listener. Very little point in the constant stories of all the famous people he's met.
This is the most disappointing purchase I've made on Audible. I feel like I just spent the last 3 days in an Amway presentation.
"Don't Bother Wasting Your Time"
A bulk of the book was filled with anecdotes in which he portrays himself as a failure or a computing nerd so that he could establish credibility in his "methods". I found the information provided to be coercive, repetitive, and uninformative. Definitely just a run-of-the-mill self-help book that tries to masquerade itself as something else.
I held on as long as I could, but I couldn't finish this book. It was just too annoying. The author believes most religious rules & being told by your parents who to marry are bullsh!t rules you do not need to follow. Thank you Captain Obvious, but these are not groundbreaking thoughts.
"to oooooooooo much"
great BOOK this audio is to much..
he tryst to sell you after he sold you already.
step 1 example.. example on the example. detail for the example I got very bored..
"distracting accent & tries too hard to impress"
Author should have had a native read for him. He can't pronounce some of the English letters and letter combinations; so every time I heard them, I was so distracted I missed the next couple of sentences.
Some of his content was very good, which is the only reason I finished it. He has a tendency to name-drop, and he embellishes his accomplishments like an ego-driven 15-year-old. So if you can look beyond his bragadocious behavior, it might be worth the read.
"So glad I took a chance on this!!"
I bought this just by chance, since the title looked interesting. I had absolutely no knowledge of the author or any of his previous work.
WOW!!! I was absolutely blown away. This is one of the single greatest self improvement books I've ever read. It's one of the few books in general that I was actually SAD when it ended!!
Anything negative I could say about this book would be trite and trivial. Trust me, if you're looking to hack your life, this is a GREAT place to start!
If you want to read a book that is more about the author than what he is teaching this is the one. If the word "I" were eliminated it would probably be 1/3 in length. Personal anecdotes are great to illustrate points but this felt more like a memoir than book on how to improve the mind. Many will love this book but I could not even finish. Prefer more useable content less stories.
I've heard most of this in one form or another from other motivational authors. I kept listening hoping for the gem that would make it worth while and I never found it. Ultimately I bailed in the last chapter. It just wasn't worth finishing. Very average.
"Loved this book..."
First time through, changed my outlook on everything... Going to go through it again & this time, use all of the online tools & support. It's a living breathing book. I'll be looking to really absorb it, this time 'round!
"Confirmed what I already knew"
A great book very worth the read. Only confirmed what I knew already as I have been researching so much of these topics already but I did learn some things and very much enjoyed how it was written and phrased. It was time and money well spent. I highly recommend this book.
If you've been looking into self-help for a while I doubt you'll discover anything new from this book. Overall it was fine and wasn't a slog to get through.
"Same old self development fluff"
Repetitive, self promotion, not much substance that hasn't been repeated solo many times before in self development books. Thought is was getting a more scientific book.
"Seeing life from a narrow prospective"
This book is showing Vishen vision and point of view, as he said either you love it or hate it. I personally think it was narrow, same conversation is repeated many time, over promised, Intense , a summary of others point of view not put in context and not smooth and enjoyable, I have never been that challenged to keep listing to someone. The book as well add nothing new to vishen youtube videos
Yes, If Vishen first book was a disappointment form me, it doesnt mean Vishen work and growth is not interesting to follow and worth coming back to
"An enlightening experience"
Top - but not many to compare it to at present
His passion and intention behind what he writes
As a parent to a 3 year old, the part around parenting resonated with me.
For anyone unsure as to if to give this book a go.......be open minded and wait until the end before deciding if it for you or not, you might just surprise yourself.
listened to the book in one go and will keep listening to it to motivate my day and life.
"Great book for modern day personal development"
Vishen is inspiring to listen to and has some great ways of illustrating his points and giving examples that are easily relatable.
I think everyone who is interested in growth and personal/ business acumen should read this book.
"It's not a book - it's an EXPERIENCE!"
I have been following Vishen Lakhiani and Mindvalley for about two years now, bought and studied several courses, and I wasn't sure if I wanted or needed to buy this book, as I expected nothing 'new' from it. I have finished listening to it yesterday, and my feedback is that it is THE BEST WHOLESOME EXPERIENCE I have EVER had. It didn't contain any 'new' content for me, but the structure and presentation of Vishen's philosophy is solid and unique, breathtakingly exciting and as 'hands on' as it could possibly be. The 'holistic' presentation is AMAZING, I wish any personal development book would have so much background information and practical study options and courses as this work does. It is not a book, it is an experience, and as such even falls into two of the categories mentioned in the book, as it offers an experience and growth. It will be my standard present for all upcoming birthdays in the next year, as I believe it deserves to be read and experienced as much and as widely as possible.
"the title says it all"
Experience it and you will live and love to apply it . Gladly revisit it. Vishen disrupted the medium book in an A-mazing way. You truly have Vishen in person over at your place, recounting with strong vulnerability his experiences and precounting your own.
"a great insight but at a different modern perspect"
Great narration by Vishen showing his enthusiasm. Many of you may have read lots of LoA and self development books, some being very old even though still valid. Vishnu takes a very modern approach with many examples to make you understand where many other books fail to do this and leaving you wondering and a little confused. This is a great reality check in the modern world.
