Learn to find and play the role God wants most for you to play, not the ones you feel pressured into playing for the sake of others or even our sense of accomplishment and worth. Most of us spend a lot of our lives figuring out when to say yes and when to say no. How to manage our time, reduce stress, do our best for our families, find a little space for "me". But we don't find space for our souls until we learn to step past the yes and no of daily decisions and seek a third option: the best yes. The best yes is the choice that shapes all our other choices. It's what allows us to play our necessary parts in God's plan, to spend our energy and focus our passion on the assignments that really are ours.
How do we learn to say that best yes? It requires honesty. Imagination. Attention. Trust. Humility. Practice - lots of practice. And wisdom. The best yes is really all about wisdom - learning to make truly wise decisions. And that's the heart of this book. "I want us to become powerfully effective decision makers," writes Lysa Terkeurst. "Because then we will live powerfully effective lives. And spend our souls doing powerfully effective work to the glory of God." With her signature mix of transparency, Scripture-laced insight, and "been there" humor, she suggests usable strategies for choosing wisely and encourages us all to shout and whisper our own best yes to life, day by decision-making day.

"Wish Lysa was narrating"
Lysa's writing style is so fun and easy to read. I had a hard time listening to someone else read this book because Lysa's writing is so fun and personable. For example, it's weird to hear someone else refer to "my man" or " I held my daughter as she cried." It loses a lot of what makes Lysa seem so authentic when someone else is reading. The content is great! I just would have preferred Lysa to read it.
"Best Lysa TerKeurst Book yet!"
I have already listened to The Best Yes 3 times and will continue to listen. Specifically talks to so many issues moms and women face. Excellent Encouragement with strategies for your Best YES.
I listened to this book on 1.25 speed and it was perfect. I am not the most patient listener! The information in this book was useful & inspirational. Some of it was a reiteration of common sense & things I already have in practice and other parts were enlightening. Very good information & insight into how our decisions mold and shape us, how we have control over them and how they impact our lives.
Everything! It was so wonderful and life changing. I now need to just apply all I learned in this book!
Keep it Shut, both great Christian leaders.
I loved how she provided real life experiences that she encountered that led to this book.
"The Best Yes is God's plan our my life!"
I love Lysa's heart. She is so transparent and relatable. I want to be "one wise woman" as mentioned in the scriptures as l face decisions. Our decisions and choices lead us to our circumstances, consequences and to Christ's plans for us. We just need to listen. Lysa shares ways to determine what decisions are best in our lives. We all have made good choices and not so good choices, but Lysa helps us to find the Best Yes answers so we will not lived overwhelmed all the time. I loved the book and loved listening to it on Audible. I do wish however, Lysa had read it herself. But it was great!
"Say YES to the Best Yes!"
God used this book perfectly in my life, the way He always does! I started reading it at just the right time in life. Lysa beautifully teaches how to prioritize and declutter life with practical illustrations and stories from her own experience. I am still a work in progress, but thanks to Lysa and the power of the Holy Spirit in her writing, I am learning to say Yes in the best ways and also learning when to say No.
"great to read over and over"
the first time I listened it was a little slow at the beginning, but definitely gained steam as I continued. love lisa's use of metaphors to help us remember key concepts and put things in perspective.. I have re-listened to this book several times and continue to pick up new gems. reader could use some more inflection and sometimes made me sleepy... do the next right thing and get this book! thanks lisa.
This was a wonderful read with good reminders for women that really want to give their best, guided by their Heavenly Father. The one thing that I found very distracting was the scriptures. I'm all for scriptures but the author used some other version of the bible than I've ever read. So she'd start referencing a familiar scripture and I'd get so distracted because I'm like "what is she saying? This isn't how it goes". That should be a small thing and it won't bother everyone but for me it got worse as the book went on. That aside I really liked the message of the book and feel more empowered to say yes to the best things and no where I need to.
Great advice for all who allows themselves to be scheduled. Delivered in a very entertaining way.
"Love Lysa - Love Premiss"
Love premiss, but a bit repetitive. First 5 chapters sum up book. Lysa has great insight.
"Taking time to read this was a best yes decision"
A beautiful and powerful narration, I enjoyed every minute of it. It had me laughing, it brought a tear and has made me seriously reevaluate my decision-making processes. Thank you!
