Very informative without being boring

A great book covering the history of beer as well as styles, language, taste, paring & more!

Great intro about world of beers and how it's mad

A bit too boring when he gets too much into describing each style. Unless you're into that type of beer it won't be interesting to you

If you only ever read one book on beer...

If you only ever read one book on beer... this should be it. Great coverage of what beer is, how it came about, where and how the various styles are made, and most importantly, how to taste beer and build your tasting knowledge and experience. It covers the various styles, the basics of brewing (but it is not a book on how to brew beer by any means), tasting, judging and how to enjoy this great beverage. Highly recommended.

Good overall information

It is a nice concise overview of Beer Brewing and all its complexities. Makes me want to run my own Brewery! Long book but great info.

This is not about tasting beer

Gives a history on beer and a description of beer styles but doesn’t go into any in depth tasting information at all.
Sure, it’s not a bad book but mistitled.
