Believe what you've heard about meditation: it'll focus your mind, open your heart, and sometimes surprise you with insight. And it's not complicated to learn. In fact, everything you need to get started is contained in this audiobook. Lodro Rinzler begins by challenging you to ask yourself why you want to meditate in the first place. (Good news: there's no wrong answer!) With your intention thus in place, he teaches you all the basics, along with advice for making your meditation practice a priority no matter how busy you are. He then shows you how to bring the wisdom and compassion you discover in meditation into all other areas of your life.

"Light and inspiring"
At first I thought it too simplistic but it contains great pointers, including taking meditation off the cushion into real life!
"A wonderful meditation primer!"
This is an excellent book for folks beginning a meditation practice or those wanting support for their existing practice. Lodro Rinzler has a wonderful approach to making meditation accessible, describing how to get started and reinforce it as a healthy activity. He also describes the types of things one might experience during meditation, and how to put them into perspective.
I highly recommend this audiobook. It's narrated by the author and truly feels like Mr. Rinzler is providing supportive, side-by-side coaching.

I enjoyed the book very much. This has been one of the most practical books on meditation I have read.
"Great intro to meditation"
I have just started meditating and this has been a very informative introduction to meditation. Light and easy listen
I have listened to and read multiple books on this topic. I have often become overwhelmed and confused. This is the most down to earth explanation yet! It has inspired me to begin my journey.
"Very good intro to meditation"
Short, but a good place to get started with meditation. Talks about a number of lessons learned to help get your practice going. Rinzler is young but has been mediating for many years and has also taught meditation. I believe this book is good for ages 12 thru 100; but I think it particularly talks to the 12 to 30 crowd. I ordered a paperback version for my 22 year old daughter. There are some Buddhist ideas in the book; but if you are not interested in that part the book is still very worth while. The author offers personal help if you want to get in touch with him.
"Really easy way to start"
I've been searching for beginners books this one is very simple and a very low price you would have a ground to start.
Now I have the first step to start. Give it a try.
"Great little book"
The meditation section is a little short but its really that simple for beginners, I suppose. Also, he speaks a bit too fast. I adjusted the speed to 0.85 and its more pleasing to listen.
"Brilliant starter guide to meditation"
This is the best audio book I have listen to so far and makes for the perfect starter guide for those looking to try meditation.
"Ben's best book 2016"

"Jury is out....."
I think it's my fault for taking too long a period of time between listening. I need to listen again to get fully absorbed by it.
"excellent intro to the practice of meditation"
