Hardcore Self Help: F--k Anxiety is for those of us who find the prospect of reading a traditional self-help book to be way too boring. How are you supposed to make positive changes in your life if the book itself feels like a chore? This audiobook is definitely not a chore.
In Hardcore Self Help: F--k Anxiety, I talk to you like a friend. There is lots of swearing and humor but also loads of helpful and actionable information. You learn about anxiety and how to find the weapons within yourself to slay it for good.
The audiobook is performed and recorded by me, so you get every intended inflection!

In terms of anxiety management information I don't think there is much that is new or particularly groundbreaking here, however, the standout feature is the delivery. The content is delivered with enthusiasm, humour and sincerity. Although the authors style certainly won't be everyone's cup of tea, it resonated with me, I felt it was fresh and even inspiring...it felt like a conversion with a good friend. For me, this is a keeper and an audio book that I will revisit again.
We're all totally bored about our anxiety right? This book makes it interesting and you feel ok about your condition. I recommend this book to anyone suffering from anxiety, or Frank as the author calls his. The narrator/author/Dr is easy to listen to, understands and normalises anxiety. I felt like I was part of wider community reading this book, instead of alone with the miserable physiological and psychological symptoms of anxiety. The simple breathing exercise has made a world of difference and I feel a lot better. I will listen to this again and again.
"Waste of time"
Although the author does a very good job of narrating his book and his ideas and it was entertaining to listen to the subject matter is pointless and I got absolutely nothing from this. I would not recommend this to anyone
Wish I had not wasted my money! Don't bother with this!!! Not helpful. BLEH.
"It's ok. But not awesome."
I like the author who's also the reader. I think this book is geared towards the younger generation. I bought the book because of the title but I was expecting a little bit more than I got. I think it's a great read if this is the first time you are reading about anxiety.
I just loved this book. so honest . I want more books like this. Amazing!
"I Am Not Offended By Offensive Language..."
when it is used with effect, but this is gratuitous and stupid. The author tries to make up for the very ordinary approach to anxiety treatment (nothing new here) with "talking like a normal person" ("normal" if you use empty vulgarity every other word) and trying to seem hip and cool and identifiable. (The tone pretty much runs like this: "You don't need some egghead telling you about those fancy neurotransmitters when I can make it seem much more relatable by referring to your brain as a "douche."--Please!) It's not so much anxiety as the reader here that ends up feeling....well,,,
This book was great. It was relatable and even funny. Having an author speak to you as a close friend helps take away the stigma and seriousness felt when reading most self help books. It also helped me to actually listen to what he was saying.
Entertaining read. Great jump start to a more in depth 'treatment' regime. Appreciated the section on guided relaxation.
Great book, he does a very good job of talking to you like a friend! I wish more books were written like this
"Short, sweet, approachable, engaging and hilarious"
Author reads his own work and given the very casual and conversational tone of writing the audio book version is ideal.
"amazing!!!! thanx for the asmr dude! -AsmrNovaStar"
Loved the casualness of this book. like sittin with a good buddy :) I highly recommend anyone with a sense of humour to listen to this!
"Good but too short."
Enjoyed this but felt it was too broad and could have gone into more detail in places. Liked the tone and general idea of a less touchy feely book on anxiety.
Listened just before bed and it really calmed and settled me.
This is something I'm battling at the moment and you can relate so much of what Robert says, I found it a great help.
I listened to this all in one go.
good tone and information. Rob kept me listening. the relaxation technique was brilliant and useful
I really loved listening to this book. Really helpful. I think the narrator is brilliant and funny, made this very enjoyable.
It actually taught me a few tips and tricks to help my anxiety issues. I've been to therapy before and not received any advice as good as in this audiobook.
really helpful and insightful helped me through a really rough time. love the guided breathing
"Fun, and a good starting point."
I enjoyed this book, Robert Duff delivers the content well and is enthusiastic about his ideas. I loved the casual nature and the funny references etc. This book could be a good starting place for people to help understand the root of their negative thinking or anxiety. However as with a few of these shorter self help books, they seldom off much actual help. I feel the author could have stretched out the topics more and elaborated more on some of the finer points. Also I believe that he could have offered some tasks or further explanation on how to start your journey on your way to getting over social anxiety. Rather than just explanations of the root causes of the problem
"Not for someone over 30 years old"
Disappointment that I used one of my Audible credits to listen to swearing and slang that was too "young minded" for my 54 year old brain. There was a bit of good information here but it wasn't presented in a way that I could relate to.
