Audie Award Finalist, Personal Development, 2014
A practical, yet inspirational work that proposes it’s the inner world of our psyches that determines happiness, not outside forces. We have control over our own happiness and this powerful book offers concrete advice on how to tap into it and nourish it all year round. The author focuses explicitly on the positive ways we can establish a higher set-point in our thoughts, speech, and actions, resulting in greater sustainable levels of happiness. Regardless of what the year and your life may bring, we can become measurably and sustainably happier.

"More of the Same"
Another self help book that has been written 100 times before. Just could not even finish it, am glad I didn't pay full price or I would have had to return it.
"a Sunday sermon"
I feel like I've been thoroughly lectured by the guy at the pulpit. If I wanted to be told I'd be happy if I prayed to god, I'd go to church.
"I really loved it"
The perspective on happiness was enlightening. I enjoyed the book tremendously and will listen to it again.
This was my first audiobook... just what I needed to hear.
It was as if he was speaking directly to me. I could really relate to the subject and he gave clear steps to follow to become a happier person.
It was too long for one sitting but I wanted to hurry up and get back to listening to it again.
It made me think about the things I've gone through and are going through in more depth and from different angles. This audio has helped me focus on the areas of my life that were important to me and to try and keep the bad at bay.
"amazing book simple and.wonderfully narrated"
enjoyed this thoroughly. practical and enjoyable.a must read for every person. love love love love
"Fantastic life changing information"
Great book and the author's voice was easy to listen to at work. It only took 2 days to finish.
"Perfection! Everything I want to say in one book!"
As each minute passed I found myself saying "yessss" more and more. I have had so many people ask me my secret to being happy 99 % of the time. I would state so many of the exact phrases in this book.
Now when I am asked I will simply say "Get this book!"
"Amazing and useful!"
I can't even begin to fully express the change I felt as I read and listened to this book. I first purchased the hard copy at a FedEx copy/ship location to bypass some time. A few weeks later I decided to download the audible so I could listen to it during my 8 hour drive to TN from Texas (for work). The awakening this book has given me, bringing awareness to current, and past situations in my life has helped me further understand my desire for my recent shift in my consciousness! It has helped me in many many areas and I feel the teachings from this book will help me for years to come! I also appreciate how Bowen does not use religion as a guide but makes references to many different cultures and religions in reference to meanings, that was amazing! I am non-religious (not bound to a belief) but I respect the difference in spiritual growth and well being! He made this subject comfortable where as some other books use the "fear" method this is not anywhere close to those!
Even if you believe you are Truly Deep down a happy individual, reading this book won't hurt that happiness and it doesn't alter your way of thinking other than little by little as you reflect on the chapters you read you'll see a positive change day by day! Well at least I did!
Thank you Will, I hope to one day be able to meet you the same way you met Jacob Smirnoff! (well, if I meet another Will along the way I be sure to tell you of it! - for those who read the book, you'll get that reference!)
This book didn't click for me. To heavy on Christianity and now troublesome references to celebrities (Bill Cosby, e.g.) that aren't exactly models to aspire to at the moment. Am Listening to Duhigg's "Smarter, Faster, Better" now and might try "How to Have a Good Day" by Caroline Webb in a similar vein.
Other suggestions i enjoyed were "Practicing Mindfulness: An Introduction to Meditation" and "Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Techniques for Retraining Your Brain" form the Great Courses series.
"Yes it's possible"
Starts well, goes a little bit too religious at times, but overall quite a good listen. Lots to put into practice and lots of practical advice. Ultimately we all want to be happy and it really is a state of mind. Narration by author ok.
