What is the missing link to a glorious church? Can it be the lack of "full knowledge and all perception that ye may prove [or, distinguish] the things that differ" (literal translation)? Certainly spiritual discernment is the pressing need of today. How can we obtain this full knowledge of God? Where do we get spiritual discernment that we may know the things which differ or are more excellent? These are the matters which brother Watchman Nee tried to address during his latter years of ministry.

Authority is a tremendous thing in the universe, nothing overshadows it. God's throne is established on His authority. God's authority represents God Himself. God alone is authority in all things; all the authorities of the earth are instituted by God. It is therefore important for us who desire to serve God to know the authority of God.

Having every one of us been in bondage to sin, we readily believe that sinful things are Satanic; but do we believe equally that the things of the world are Satanic? Many of us, I think, are still in two minds about this. Yet how clearly Scripture affirms that "the whole world lieth in the evil one" (1 John 5:19). Satan well knows that, generally speaking, to try to ensnare real Christians through things that are positively sinful is vain and futile.

This present volume is a compilation of various writings and addresses given by Watchman Nee in the early days of his ministry. The passage of time, however, only increases the urgency of these messages which are as relevant today, perhaps even more so, than at the time of their first delivery. Would that God's children might return to the cross and be true followers of Christ crucified. May the Church of God be re-awakened to her calling as the light in the world, holding forth the word of life.

The subject before the listener is one which is commonly overlooked by God's people. Yet we are definitely told by the Lord this word: "A salvation ready to be revealed in the last time...Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls" (1 Peter 1.5,9). As the end draws nearer and nearer, it is incumbent upon Christians to know what the salvation of the soul is.

Whereas in the past that book was shunned by most as not being understandable, now it is looked upon as a blessed book, just as it is written of it. Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written therein.

In this volume, Watchman Nee, the noted Chinese pastor/writer, presents to us a biblical interpretation of creation, not arguing for the scientific accuracy of the Genesis account, but stipulating that God is greater than science.

The life that God gives and you receive at the time you believe in his son Jesus Christ is such a life. It is a life that overcomes sin, provides intimate communion with God, and is full of satisfaction and power. It is already in you, waiting to be explored by you. The secret toward experiencing its power is to let go of yourself and let Christ live instead of you. This requires a childlike faith. Then shall you more than conquer through him who loves you.

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6). So mourned the prophet Hosea.
