Publisher's Summary

It is a question as old as man: How do I get others to do what I want? How do I bend the will of the people around me to the point where it is more in line with my deepest hopes and desires? And most importantly, how do I do it in such a way that no one is even aware that I've done anything at all? Human psychology, empathy, perception, common sense, secrecy, and graft: these are the topics that author Daniel Smith will discuss in his book on persuasion, in which he seeks to answer these and other age-old questions about influencing and persuading others. In his book entitled Banned Methods of Persuasion, the author provides an in-depth guide to the many techniques and methods for becoming the grey eminence you were always meant to be. Whether it is high stakes political intrigue, office diplomacy, manipulating those who seek to take advantage of you, or even just getting a date, this book explains critical points of human interaction in easy to understand, casual language. Some of the information found within may be hard to handle - controversial even - but with detailed study of our time-honored methods, even the shiest and most withdrawn person may find themselves in an increasingly powerful social position. Knowledge awaits!

    "Bad narration."
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Note: Narrator is Ok, although too much standard melodic not reflecting the story.

But extremely bad microphone and in general Audio Editor must be beheaded! Hwat the fcuk!

Middle-range tones are too much and echoed badly, almost impossible to listen. Non-pleasant.

Story is Ok, but I was able to listen first chapter only. I feel I know it already. Written for complete dummies a.k.a. "psychologists".

What was one of the most memorable moments of Banned Methods of Persuasion?

Avoiding car accident because of too much disturbance coming from narration LOL

Would you be willing to try another one of Jennifer Howe’s performances?

    Not!!!
May be if she will spend some money for better microphone. And if she reads the book in advance and understands it.

This is bad if Narrator does not know the subject.

Do you think Banned Methods of Persuasion needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    This book is too basic.

    Any additional comments?

Yes. Please use professional Audio Editors. Recording of this is extremely bad technically. If Narrator is three stars, then recording quality is below the floor.

    "Better Off Being Read."

this book is better being read. the narrator is so boring that it was very grueling to get through this audio book.
also there was nothing new in this book, nothing different from what I've read other books.

"A book on Persuasion Fails to Persuade The Reader"

This book is about persuading others. Yet its author comits a rather basic error. He uses a controversial theory as the foundation.

The only thing it convinced this reader of is the simplicity, stupidity and narrow-mindedness of people who buy into evolutionary thinking!

    "Poorly written"

Weak and irrelevant examples, very poorly written, not convincing, more marketing to this book than content
