Craig Beck was a successful and functioning professional man in spite of a "two bottles of wine a night" drinking habit. For 20 years, he struggled with a problem drinking, all the time refusing to label himself an alcoholic because he did not think he met the stereotypical image that the word portrayed.
All these "willpower" based attempts to stop drinking failed. Slowly, he discovered the truth about alcohol addiction and one by one, all the lies he had previously believed started to fall apart. For the first time, he noticed that he genuinely didn't want to drink anymore.
In this audiobook, he will lead you through the same amazing process. You can stop drinking today.... No need to declare yourself an alcoholic. No group meetings or expensive rehab. No humiliation, no pain, and no "willpower" required.
Alcohol Lied to Me has already helped thousands of people to escape from alcohol addiction. Newly updated, this third edition of the audiobook includes two new chapters.

This was a great perspective and the hard cold truth you need to hear about this silent killer.
This is truly a life changing book
The title says everything and Greg does a great job in the audiobook to show you this
"good book i read for a psychology class"
it was a good book that I read cor a psychology class. it aligned well with some information I learned in classes.
Eye opening, sobering (no pun intended) and life-giving. Reading this book felt like walking down the street and finding a briefcase full of money with a note inside saying "this is for you." I'm thankful that this book "found me."
"this book is a great help"
it worked for my sister and now it has worked for me. feeling better every day. I am proud each day that I succeed.
Thanks to Greg for this information, so much better than any other system available today.
"Wake up to the lies"
For the price of a nights booze I have been freed from the social poison. This book should be prescribed on the NHS!
"well intentioned sales pitch"
As someone who is in recovery from alcohol addiction I would recommend speaking to your GP and accessing professional support.
"No nonsense but caring approach useful advice"
always inspiring useful advice I'm quickly becoming a admirer but only if you are ready for the truth I have purchased several books now I'm never disappointed. constructive positive information.
This was a really good read (listen) I loved that the author himself was narrating as you can tell he's so passionate about it. He's got a lively clear voice too. It's gives you a lot of info about alcohol and society which is something I've been quite switched on to recently and have been observing how entrenched it is as acceptable and how people who don't drink are the odd ones out, this is ridiculous and here he gives you other options and by the end of the book I'm like yeh!! He's so right! When j read it I was already 50 days uni alcohol free so I'm doing ok, but was good to get a little boost for wanting to continue. Also that this a personal journey For each person. I downloaded the audio on Saturday night and I'd finished it by Sunday lunch time. I was transfixed. Thanks!
"Some good points, but overall misleading"
Water is poison, eating only rabbits will kill you, any heavy gas is not recommended, so it must be poison. My point, almost everything around us will be bad for us, if only we knew how much. I personally think that your "stamp's on alcohol is an cop out, and, as I have, sort your personal problems out and no longer do you need to rely on the handicap of 'alcohol' made me do it. Yes, it's not good, but yes you can do better without blaming a substance that you, fully aware, bought!!
