2016 Audie Award Finalist for Business/Personal Development

From Academy Award-winning producer Brian Grazer and acclaimed business journalist Charles Fishman comes a brilliantly entertaining peek into the weekly "curiosity conversations" that have inspired Grazer to create some of America's favorite and iconic movies and television shows - from 24 to A Beautiful Mind

For decades film and TV producer Brian Grazer has scheduled a weekly "curiosity conversation" with an accomplished stranger. From scientists to spies and adventurers to business leaders, Grazer has met with anyone willing to answer his questions for a few hours. These informal discussions sparked the creative inspiration behind many of Grazer's movies and TV shows, including Splash, 24, A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, Arrested Development, 8 Mile, J. Edgar, and many others.

A Curious Mind is a brilliantly entertaining, fascinating, and inspiring homage to the power of inquisitiveness and the ways in which it deepens and improves us. Whether you're looking to improve your management style at work or you want to become a better romantic partner, this audiobook - and its lessons on the power of curiosity - can change your life.

great storytelling with a coherent and engaging narrative

great storytelling with a coherent and engaging narrative, the encounters with the famous people throughout author journey and how his curiosity influenced him in leading up to these moments are quite wholesome.

Inspiring and funny

Great insight to how Grazer goes about meeting celebrities to become a movie producer.
And always love hearing Norbet narrate. He brings life to the story.

Compelling argument for 'curiosity'.

Grazer lays out his reasons for making curiosity THE driving force behind all human achievement, be it industrial, artistic or physical. It's curiosity, he argues, that precedes experimentation, testing, and adaptation of new ideas, techniques, modes. His own life story involves an astonishing (literally) list of interviews over 35 years with many dozens of people from all walks of life. The celebrity, the politician, sportsperson, industrialist, author, actor, musician, CEO, president (of nations, several) and so on. He openly relates his own at times inadequate preparation for these events and getting caught out (his 10-minute meeting with Isaac Asimov & wife a butt-clenching classic!). Overall, it left me open to be more wonder-full, questioning, a better listener and, yes, more curious. I much enjoyed this book.

An Interesting Read

From an education perspective it sparked my thinking. He committed to all that he discussed. Some self promotion, but to be expected.
A great quick read, to get your thinking.

Enchanting and inspiring

I've been teaching curiosity as one of the 6 qualities that distinguish aspiring writers from published authors for a few years now which is why I've was drawn to the title of this book. I loved the way the author thinks about curiosity and the questioning mind - I took notes and laughed out loud several times. A stunning book I'll recommend to all my students.
