Story
O quasi.

Story
Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey are unquestionably two of the greatest epic masterpieces in Western literature. Though more than 2,700 years old, their stories of brave heroics, capricious gods, and towering human emotions are vividly timeless. The Iliad can justly be called the world’s greatest war epic. The terrible and long-drawn-out siege of Troy remains one of the classic campaigns. The Odyssey chronicles the many trials and adventures Odysseus must pass through on his long journey home from the Trojan wars to his beloved wife.

Story
Piranesi lives in the House. Perhaps he always has. In his notebooks, day after day, he makes a clear and careful record of its wonders: the labyrinth of halls, the thousands upon thousands of statues, the tides that thunder up staircases, the clouds that move in slow procession through the upper halls. On Tuesdays and Fridays Piranesi sees his friend, the Other. At other times he brings tributes of food to the Dead. But mostly, he is alone.

Story
Macbeth: A Novel brings the intricacy and grit of the historical thriller to Shakespeare’s tale of political intrigue, treachery, and murder. In this full-length novel written exclusively for audio, authors A. J. Hartley and David Hewson rethink literature’s most infamous married couple, grounding them in a medieval Scotland whose military and political upheavals are as stark and dramatic as the landscape in which they are played.

Loved it!!

Publisher's Summary
Shortly after moving into an old house Coraline discovers a big, carved, brown wooden door at the far corner of the drawing room. And it is locked. Curiosity runs riot in Coraline's mind and she unlocks the door to see what lies behind it. Disappointingly, it opens onto a brick wall. Days later, after exploring the rest of the house and garden, Coraline returns to the same mysterious door and opens it again. This time, however, there is a dark hallway in front of her. Stepping inside, the place beyond has an eerie familiarity about it. The carpet and wallpaper are the same as in her flat. The picture hanging on the wall is the same. Almost. Strangest of all, her mum and dad are there too. Only they have buttons for eyes and seem more possessive than normal. It's a twisted version of her world that is familiar, and yet sinister. And matters get even more surreal for Coraline when her "other" parents seem reluctant to let her leave.
Critic Reviews
"This book will send a shiver down your spine, out through your shoes and into a taxi to the airport. It has the delicate horror of the finest fairy tales, and it is a masterpiece. And you will never think about buttons in quite the same way again." (Terry Pratchett)

🗝🔮🚪👻 They're go na get ya .......RUN!
Don't go there . Don't open the door. .....got ya! I made the mistake thinking relax with a children's book for a change. Can't be too scary a tale Dibleys vicar is telling the story. My heart is still racing after 2 days and I can't look at our old moggy with out thinking he is going to start speaking.
I found myself wide eyed with hands gripping onto the pillow. Wonderfully narrated. A children's story for all ages. Just when you thinking is over and your beta blockers have prevented your heart from bursting out your chest. Take a breath THE HAND with a much needed manicure comes a tap tap tapping........wanting some.....one.🗝👻

Not sure what’s creepier
It’s a great story, but I honestly cannot tell which is creepier - book or movie. I love Gaiman’s writing and know I’m going to listen to this again.

My granddaughter was excited every time we went in the car because she got to listen to more of this story!
Great book! My 11 year old granddaughter has seen the movie and had nightmares but the book had her excited and eager to hear what happened next! Listening to the book actually helped her to leave those fears from the movie behind and she was able to watch again, after hearing the book, with new eyes. Fantastic!
Really enjoyed the narrators style of reading and will look out for more with her narrating.
Thanks Audible.

This is very different from the movie, but still interesting and spooky - if I didn't know the movie I would still love this. And Dawn French....
