While clawing her way out of Houston's worst neighborhood, Lena vowed to never let any man have power over her. After a lifetime of broken promises from her criminal father and a mother who abandoned her, Lena believes that love makes you vulnerable. She's never been tempted to test that belief... until Yuri.
Sexy as sin and with a dark reputation, Russian billionaire Yuri Novakovsky survived a miserable childhood of poverty and neglect to ascend the pinnacle of success. He enjoys the perks of his massive wealth without much thought to the consequences... until Lena.
When Lena's father and cousin blunder into an international art theft operation, Yuri seizes his chance to be her protector. But when past misdeeds catch up with him and threaten Lena's safety, Yuri puts her love and trust in him to the test.
He'll show Lena he can be the man she needs - a man she can trust and depend upon - one sensual, wicked kiss at a time.

"YOU JUST CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THIS SERIES"
As a romance lover, these Russian Alphas that Roxie has created tick all my boxes.... they have a sexy accent, they're protective, loyal, loving, tattooed, handsome and, of course, very hot. On top of this Yuri is mega rich but will spend it all for the woman he loves...Lena. Yuri has been crazy for the strong, independent, all business Lena for a long time but the timing was never right then she appeared in his Club one night and all of a sudden the timing was perfect.....how wrong they were.
This was an all action listen with deals going bad, art theft, the Mexican Cartel, a traitor or two, secrets, kidnapping, attempted murder and murder - all while they were trying desperately to fall in love but each one brought their own share of past demons and present day threats. These two had great chemistry, easy playful banter, good heart-to-heart's, passion, romance and some hot times. There's humor too especially from a beast of a dog who proves himself a loveable hero.
Worth a credit? Told from dual POV's by a narrator that was good with some accents but poor with others, great secondary characters and a close bond is shared between Yuri's 'brothers' and Lena's friends from past books as they are all brought in on the action and stand-by each other. Good storyline made this a great listen and very creditworthy and I'm now desperate for Nikolia and Vivian's story next.
"Interesting 3rd book in a fun Russian Mafia series"
First, let me say, these books are fun. Will you take them seriously? No, because it's erotica ladies, come on. But for erotica, they offer you a fun listen. Roxie Rivera has created a delightful romp through Houston that will make you want to listen to the whole series. And you should start with the little snippet that is book 1.
I will admit I hoped for more in this book. You may have noticed I gave it 3 stars. Pinky Powell did a nice job, though I hoped for improvement on the accents. Not bad though. The story however irked me a little.
Yuri is a billionaire... selfmade... and not all from illegal stuff which is nice. He's a guy that got lucky then spun his millions into a huge deal. He's currently obsessed with a pipeline in Europe that will... make him money? That part was fuzzy but he was really into making it happen so let's say it will benefit him greatly.
Leni got on my nerves. It's a great premise - young college girl sets up a blog to talk about the hottest parts of Houston to party, over the years she gains a reputation and eventually makes money from people wanting her to come to clubs. A local celeb. In the meantime she's working on her degree and working for a marketing firm. She merges the two and cleans up a swanky club. Only to be b**chslapped.
What follows is a weird staying of character and a bit of whiney teenage angst that I wouldn't expect from a strong independent woman in her twenties. I found the way their relationship went to be a little awkward and then we through in a Mexican cartel and boom! adventure!
But I'll keep listening. Cause it's fun.
This book is amazing...All the series up to this point have been some of the best book I've heard in a long time. Just wish the whole updated series was on here....
"ok story. terrible narration."
the story was ok but not great. it was pretty unbelievable. the female narration was fine but when she did the Russian accent for the male lead it was just sooooo wrong. hes supposed to be a sexy male leading man instead he came across sounding like a sweet old russian man.. definitely doesnt go well with the hot and steamy love scenes it just made it seem weird.
"emotionally orgasmictly hot."
To read about two people who've wanted one another, then going at it because it's soul deep is hot.
"Not bad! Fun quicky"
I like the stories, they are not too deep or complicated, but good quickies. Pet peeve though, I'm Hispanic and it drives me crazy the stereotypical Mexican accent and the fact that the Spanish speaker pronounce the silent "H" In hermano and she pronounces Guhz-man instead of gooz-mawn. But that's me being particular
"3rd of series extremely young girl w/ OLDER man!"
Third story to series. Older man in his late 30's "watched" over young girl till she is legal. She is a artist & a virgin. He met her when she was 11 yr. and now that she is 21 and stuff with her family and his criminal past helps him get what he wants. The get married.. There might be more stories from characters in this series. I'm sure they will all be young latino girls with older Russian men and dealing with Russian mob situations. The accents from the narration are great. If you are a middle aged read/buyer that likes to keep reading about young naive girls hooking up with OLDER worldly men instead of people of equal age falling in love. Then this is a story for you.
I loved Yuri's character as a whole. He is not into the lifestyle as deep as his friends but he still knows how to protect what is his. Lena was also a great character. All of the women in these series have a backstory that made them strong. No matter how much they fight their attraction to these men it is futile. The story between Yuri and Lena showed this.
Yuri is my favorite character. He is a billionaire that can buy anything he wants but is not afraid to get dirty and fight for love. When Yuris past comes back to haunt him and threatens Lena and her family, Yuri stops at nothing to keep her safe.
There were so many moments in this book. I think when Yuri's friend set up a Poker match just so they could win the painting back, but they still made sure they man walked away with money was great. They needed the painting but did not want to make the man look bad.
"Cheeky rich guy and a go-getter girl"
I enjoyed this one despite the lack of emotional tug. There was more humor and playfulness in this story. There was enough plot that I didn't feel that the sex overshadowed it. Yuri's dog was my favorite thing in the book.
I think it was an excellent set up for the next book.
narration is laughable at best..russian accent sound more like spanish accent plus thefemale lead character is immature and unlikable. Not a good combination with someone who is suppose to be a mature and sophisticated character like Yuri.
