When a mysterious text message summons May Wexler to a biker bar in downtown New Orleans, she knows something is very wrong. Her sister has sent out an SOS, but when May gets there, she's nowhere to be found and May is the one in trouble - she's wearing pink espadrilles, she's got a Chihuahua in her purse, and she's in the middle of a shootout.
After tall, muscular Ozzie comes to her rescue, May has no choice but to follow him to safety. At the headquarters of his private security firm, the Bourbon Street Boys, she finds a refuge for the night - and the offer of a job. But it's not long before a gun-toting stalker isn't the only complication in May's life: the more time she spends with Ozzie, the less she can deny that they've got some serious chemistry. A wrong number got her into this mess...Will it also get her the right guy?

"Loved this book! :)"
I wasn't sure about this book because of the overall low rating but I decided that under $10 I'll give it a listen and return it if I don't like it. I LOVED this book! I Cannot tell you how many times I LOL :). I LOL with tears when telling my husband about certain scenes. I was laughing so hard I couldn't get the words out. It has romance, one good sex scene, the mystery/suspense is light. The story focuses more on the relationship of the H/H and the secondary characters.
This is my first time listening to an Elle Casey book and I loved it. Emily Foster did a great narration/performance. I'm going to look for more books by Emily and Elle.
When I purchased this book I had just finished listening to two dark suspense thrillers and was going to go to a good 'ole funny standby but then I decided to give The Bourbon Street Boys a listen. I'm glad I did. It was great. I'm looking forward to Book 2.
Is this book worth a credit? I will have to say no since it was under $10 but I would not have been disappointed if it had cost the price of a credit.
This is a book that I will listen to over and over
"A good story line."
Liked this book but lacked more depth. It had a lot of potential and could be a series with the other characters. Felt the ending was rushed.
"Funny, light and distracting"
This book was perfect for the moment I heard it.
After a few sad, heavy stories this was like a breeze of fresh air...
The first chapters were a little slow with the heroine descriptions but it picked up and became very funny snd entertaining, a little break from the daily reality.
The narrator did a great job. I had the same fun with Rock Chick series from Kate Ashley that I love...
If you like to unwind a little and have fun, this is a good book.
I do not know if I would rate 5 stars any other day but, it was a great book for me today, I did not see the time pass...
Totally recommend for the ones looking for some time out.
"Not my cup of tea"
The story itself isn't terrible, but you have to wade though May's inane stream of conscious commentary and her extremely childish actions. While the author seems to intend for the reader to see the main character as something more than a chihuahua toting bimbo, she never succeeds.
The storyline was okay. I did not like how the main character May was so immature. Had me cringing a couple times, kind of wanted it to be over about Midway through the book.
"Sadly, I Couldn't Finish It!"
I might be in the minority, but I could not finish this story. I normally love stories that are set in New Orleans, have humor, romance and great characters, but the main character was too annoying for me.
The story is funny, which I liked, but it's told from one POV, and I think this is what killed it for me (well up to chapter 30, after that I don't know.) While the situations May got into were funny, her internal dialogue drove me crazy, and I could not take another four hours of it. There are too many audios I want to listen too, for me to try to stick out with this one.
Due to the overall plot, suspense, and secondary characters, I'm giving the story three stars. Had this been dual POV's, I probably could have finished it.
"Surprise Package "
Loved the story and the narrator. She made the story extra real and was so funny at the same time. Hot and serious at the same time.
"Laugh out loud"
This book was filled with a bit of mystery, romance and a lot of laughter! My kind of book. Loved listening to this story!
"Good light story"
Definitely funny and very entertaining and I will be trying other books by this author
"Great story and characters!"
loved it.. I listened to the whole book at work and was laughing out loud often. Very entertaining, good story line and great character development. I'll be reading Tybee other Bourbon Street Boys story
This story had me crying with laughter at some points. I highly recommend this story
"light and funny"
Light hearted, loved the dog relationship it made the book for me.
Otherwise it was a bit twee for me.
I can understand her beating Dev with an unexpected tazer but she was no martial arts student all a bit too unbelievable for me.
I will listen to the other books though as I liked the characters.
"The perfect book!"
I love it to bits i just listened to it and o am going to listen again it really gets you in the feels it's just perfect and nothing less it's funny and sexy and is everything a girl needs in a book has some shocking turns which I didn't expect but I don't mind and love! I would recommend this book to anyone over the 18! Hope you like this as much as I did!
