Griffin Storm wasn't prone to violence, but when someone takes what Griffin holds dear, the world as he knows it is gone. Retaliation, revenge, and rage fuel him. His MC, the Uncertain Saints, do their best to offer support, but Griffin is beyond redemption. He'll do what he has to do. Kill who he has to kill. He doesn't care if that means he dies. If it gets him what he wants, then it's worth it.
He fakes it all until the night he walks into a sex shop for batteries and lays eyes on a woman that will change his life. Lenore makes him think past tomorrow. Makes him want to see just what the future might bring. But his life's a dangerous one built around pain and deception, and not for the faint of heart. He won't give up the past, not until he's done what he promised to do. And if that means she's not there when the dust settles, he'll risk it.
Lenore, though, won't give up on him. She'll fix him, whether he wants her to or not.

"Ms. Vale never disappoints."
The narrators were great, her southern twang and his deep timber, they fit perfectly for the storyline. I look forward to the next book. Thank you.
"Lani Lynn Vale does it again!!"
Great Read or in this case listen. Lani has a way of bringing her characters alive. Can't wait for the next book to be released. Love Lanore, she is such a spunky character. and as always Griffin is such a man's man. So so worth the listen!
"Good, But Not Great....."
Overall, I liked Whiskey Neat but had a hard time connecting with the characters, and have a few comments.
First, the story felt like it had gaps in it. I found myself checking to see if I skipped a chapter and actually rewound it several times just be sure I didn't miss anything. The biggest gap revolves around Griffin and Lenore relationship. They first meet when Griffin goes into Lenore sex shop to buy batteries, and Lenore gets his name from a credit card. The next time they see each other, Griffin and some other members of the MC are beating up one of her neighbors. Griffin tells her to leave but she is shell shocked and just stands there he takes her hand and walks her to her place, walks in and checks out all the rooms and see a toy on her nightstand and actually smells it. Later that night he breaks in Lenore home and they have sex. He basically tells her she can no longer use the toy and can only "get off" with him. I'm all for instant love, but they never really spoke or even given each other their names. The sex scenes were good, but there was no chemistry or build up between them.
Second, I wasn't able to connect emotionally with the hero. Griffin's son was murdered and the story eludes to how he is suffering but I never really felt any emotions from him except for his need to ensure the people responsible are caught and pay for what they've done.
Lastly, Uncertain Saints MC is made of law enforcement that walk a thin line between right and wrong. Normally when people comment crimes like beating someone up, they don't want witness. These renegade law enforcement really did not feel like a real MC. They had motorcycles, and "church" but that was about it. They were more like hurt law enforcement officers brought together by tragic events working together to ensure justice is served.
The narration was AWESOME. Mason Lloyd always does a great job especially with a gruff alpha MC characters. This is the first audio I've heard with Kendall Taylor and liked her performance and the accent she used to portray Lenore's character.
I did like Lenore's character. She was funny, feisty and had me laughing. I felt this was a good start with a lot of potential and will try other books in the series. If this story was expanded on to develop the chemistry, angst and plot, it would be an excellent story. Of course, this is just my opinion. (Overall Rating 3.5 Stars)
"Love love Lani's books!!"
I really enjoy Lani's ebooks. When I found this in audible, I snatched it right up!! I love Griffin and Lenore!! This book is fun and sad at some points. But so worth it!! Give it a try and you won't be disappointed!!
This is my first review so bare with me!!
"never try to know what is good for a woman"
I love Lani's books and when I found this one on here I had to have it , Mason Lloyd is an awesome narrator and I have a huge library of books he has done, Kendall was perfect and made me fall in love with this book even more.
I loved this audiobook so much.
The story was gripping. The bedroom scenes were seriously hot. The voice actors perfect.
"Incredibly good book"
This is the funniest dang leading character that I've ever read. The female. I have never laughed so much ...ever lol! Her personality slayed me!
The rest of the book was very good. I enjoyed it and about to go looking for more of her books but oh man... I hope they are as good as this one because I laughed and laughed!
"Mason Lloyd best part of this audio book!!"
If you want a book just to hear Mason Lloyd narrate then yes. Any other reason then no. The story was bad. The female narrator was annoying in this book though I've heard her read another book and she was fine. Not worth a credit. Maybe worth a very reduced price.
"A SEXY, ACTION PACKED & EMOTION FILLED SUSPENSE"
This is a good start to a very different type of MC listen - the Uncertain Saints MC is made up of a group of likeminded damaged Law Enforcement men - good men who are fed up with the bad guys getting off because of the flawed justice system so they have become a tight knit brotherhood of vigilantes. Griffin's a Texas Ranger/Biker who's also grieving, angry and focused on finding the person responsible for the cold blooded murder of his 6 yr old son. Six months later Griffin's heartbroken and mentally in a bad place - but when he goes into a Sex Shop for batteries one night, he meets a feisty, funny, petite redhead... and he's just changed the course of both their lives.
Lenore has seen some sexed up strange things happen in her shop... and when a tall, blonde, handsome badass Viking God walked in one night she knew she'd hit the motherload for her own sexual fantasies. However, when she next saw Griffin sex was the last thing on her mind because it was under very different circumstances... but sex definitely was on Griffin's mind... as well as being imminently on the cards. This starts a crazy push/pull relationship between two people who were both in bad places in their lives and yet they couldn't stay away from each other and, as they slowly grew closer, the secrets came out along with the heartbreak. As Griffin pieced together earth shattering twists and clues to his son's brutal murder unfortunately drama, angst and violence followed - however he always had Lenore's shoulder to cry on, Lenore's body to get lost in and Lenore's quirky loveable ways to make him smile and keep him sane. But when the danger got too close to Lenore, he did the only thing he could do to keep her safe.
An enjoyable dual POV listen with a sad undercurrent, the story had suspense, excitement, humor, sadness, lots of sexy times and was sweet too as the possessive, dirty talking, jealous badass/good guy of an Alpha Hero met and fell in love with the perfect woman for him.... a feisty, sometimes sarcastic, stubborn, loyal and strong redhead. There was a good cast of secondary characters as well as the rest of the Uncertain MC members who all have dark clouds in their pasts yet injected humor into the story and I look forward to their books. The Author did a great job of balancing all the varying emotional ups and downs by interlacing sweet along with the heavy, romance along with the revenge, light along with the dark, hot along with the cold and good along with the bad. IMO Female narrator was meh however Mason Lloyd's narration was great.
Worth a credit? Yes - but not one for listeners who dislikes the insta-sex beginnings to stories because initially it was lust that brought these two damaged souls together.. but it was love amidst drama that kept them there.
"5 Whiskey Neat STARS!!!!!!"
This book guys, I am telling you is amazing. This was a first book for me by this author and I can tell you it will NOT be the last. I was sucked in from the very start right to the end. I didn't want it to end.
Those are the best kind of books aren't they? The ones that leave you wanting more and with a smile on your face that was this book for me.
Griffin the smexy beast will find his way into your heart of hearts he is a fellow I want to get to know. I want to smack his ex-wife. And I want to give this larger than life man a huge hug.
Lenore is freaking ACES people. I love that she was a strong female character right from the beginning. She might be shy but shy does NOT mean weak. Boy does she have a backbone! I loved that. I loved that even though life was kicking her she wasn't laying low. She was still herself.
I am intrigued by the rest of the cast of characters. I am so OCD that I finished this book at 1:30 am last night but won’t start the second book till I write my review, because I don’t want anything to distract me from it! Ha
The narration was awesome! I have listened to both these narrators before and enjoyed their books. Kendall bring the emotion to Lenore I loved that. And Masons voice.. all kinds of yummy.
