Publisher's Summary

Leo Ware may be young, but he knows what he wants. And what he wants is Will Highland. Snarky, sophisticated, fiercely opinionated Will Highland, who burst into Leo's unremarkable life like a supernova...and then was gone just as quickly.

For the past miserable year, Leo hasn't been able to stop thinking about the powerful connection he and Will shared. So, when Leo moves to New York for college, he sweeps back into Will's life, hopeful that they can pick up where they left off. What begins as a unique friendship soon burns with chemistry they can't deny...though Will certainly tries.

But Leo longs for more than friendship and hot sex. A romantic to his core, Leo wants passion, love, commitment - everything Will isn't interested in giving. Will thinks romance is a cheesy fairy tale and love is overrated. He likes his space and he's happy with things just the way they are, thank you very much. Or is he? Because as he and Leo get more and more tangled up in each other's lives, Will begins to act like maybe love is something he could feel after all.

Roan Parrish has lost his faith in Love.

In two letters: P.U.

Welcome to "Where We Left Off" a tale of disillusionment where a handsome, intelligent young man falls for a guy completely void of anything likable.

Story line in three dot points:
* Will tells Leo not to change for others
* Leo proceeds to try and change himself for Will
* Leo and Will both settle for a romance that will satisfy neither.

I spent the whole book hopping that Leo would just dump Will's toxic ass and hook up with Tom.

The real question this book raises is who the hell hurt Roan Parrish so bad that he thought this book was a good idea? Poor bastard lost his faith in love. I can only hope that he finds someone who can bring back the romance for him. xx

Don't give up on this romance ❤️

OMG, these are two beautiful and flawed guys that both desperately need love... neither has been modelled healthy relationships or had love deeply expressed to them so it's a really long and arduous journey to acknowledge and accept that they are even worthy of it.

Leo is able to admit readily that he needs and wants Will, he can feel to the core of his being the constant gravitational pull towards him but doesn't really understand enough about himself to effectively advocate his desires and requirements. Will is so damaged from his upbringing that he has hardened himself to avoid any more hurt and constantly pushes people away to mitigate this.

With the love, understanding, guidance and lessons of those around them, especially for Leo, growth and recognition begins to occur, trust is probably the last thing to eventually come and strengthen everything.

I really loved the themes that were used throughout this story from science (predominantly physics, astronomy and astrophysics), to philosophy, art, expression, yoga, theatre, dance, coffee, food, family, found family, fantasy, science fiction, television, movies, literature, and just New York itself - the great melting pot.

🎧 Spencer Goss' narration was really stellar on this story, the fragility and naïvtey of Leo at the start that gradually built in confidence over his first year in New York was such a nuanced performance, then adding in Will's subtle shifts in dynamic, along with the entire diverse collection of supporting characters... this really was a gift that only highlighted and championed the amazing text. Bravo! 🎧

I've seen reviews where people have given up on this story, finding Will too disconnected, but boy do they give up before they see all the damage that makes him the way that he is, and also before they see the payoff of sticking with him, or fail to recognise the ways he is yearning for love and understanding yet denying it for himself just in case it's taken away again.

Oh, Roan, just beautiful character design, plotting and prose... so much beauty in the everyday occurrences that all add up to create the relationships around us... this series is terrific.

All the feels!

Amazing third book in the series. I cried with heartbreak and with relief. Real fully developed characters, an epic story and great narration. Will carry it in my thoughts for a long time.
