Scientist Maryse Robicheaux thought that a lot of her problems had gone away with her mother-in-law's death. The woman was rude, pushy, manipulative and used her considerable wealth to run herd over the entire town of Mudbug, Louisiana.
Unfortunately, death doesn't slow down Helena one bit.
DEA Agent Luc LeJeune is wondering what his undercover assignment investigating the sexy scientist has gotten him into - especially as it seems someone wants her dead. Keeping his secrets while protecting Maryse proves to be easier than fighting his attraction for the brainy beauty.

Disappointed by the lack of flair in this novel, because loved the idea of it. Caricatures rather than people populated the story and the execution left me quite bored.
"hilarious ghostly antics"
I loved this! the story is funny, sad, suspenseful, and sweet. there is plenty of adult language but it's not coarse or demeaning. there is some violence and adult content. the trouble starts with maryse being haunted by her horrible mother in law who made her miserable. after that someone starts trying to kill her. while trying to stay alive she finds out that her mother in law had her own secrets and they have to work together to find out who the killer is.
A light-hearted mystery filled with plausible characters, a ghost, good friends, and a handsome stranger. The narrator did a good job with a variety of voices. All and all, I enjoyed this romp through Mudbug, Louisiana.
"Skokie stackhouse fans...."
.....this is what you've been waiting for!!! A hell of a joyride. You'll surely pee on your pants!!!
"A good story!"
This is my 1st book by this author.
I enjoyed the story development and the narrator.
"love love love."
Can't wait to start the next book in the series. Hard to stop listening once you start.
"good book, good performance."
I like the storyline quite well it has a few things off. some of the gun talk and oil talk. but it is interesting enough that the problems can easily be overlooked. the narrator does a good job but her accents are southern. definitly not la. and especially not southern la. however this too can be ignored and she does a good job overall.
"Trouble in Mudbug"
I haven't been a reader of ghost stories, but decided to give it a try. The plot had some silly twists which made it hard for me to complete reading this story. I probably wouldn't read the other books in this series.
"Good story and entertaining"
Yes and I did. It is a very entertaining book. A very nice change from the very serious books I read.
Terrible terrible accent but imphases and read well.
I enjoyed this book. I have to agree with some other reviews that the LA accent is really bad and I could do without the language, especially the four letter word. All in all the book was good. Good story and humorous. I can't wait to get started on the next one.
This was a funny, fast paced book that was really fun to listen too. I'm going to listen to the rest of the serious!
"Trouble in Mudbug"
I did not like some of the words used in this book. I was wishing there would have been a rating on this book! I enjoy books without swear words in them!
