Sorry, but I couldn't listen long enough to find anything memorable.
Sandra Burr, Jenny Sterling, Davina Porter, etc.
Disappointment and anger as I had planned to order the entire series.
I read this series in hardback years ago and was delighted to find it on audio - that is until I heard Ms. Dawe speaking the part of Darcy - who sounds about 13. The sample was a male voice - deep, rich and very much in the role of Ms. Roberts' usual romantic characters, but when he and Darcy converse, Ms. Dawe's narration makes him creepy - like a much older man attempting to lure a child into a sexual liaison. Her particular rendition of Darcy's voice is further baffling as she reads other female characters in this book naturally - especially Blake's mother. Too bad she was chosen as the narrator because this book is one of the best in the series.
"The Winning Hand"
I have read this story so many times that the book fell apart. I love the characters and Nora Roberts storytelling. The narrator bothered me. When she just read the story it wasn't too bad but when she tried to interject accents (poorly done) it caused me to stop listening to the story and focus on the ridiculous voice.
"Love the narrator"
This is one of my favorite audiobooks. I love Angela Dawe but the way she voiced Kelsey was perfect. I've read this book a number of times and she made it sound just like I always heard it.
I've always loved this book and this series. It is one of my favorite series and this one if one of the best.
Kelsey Warren was perfect.
I was sorry when this one was over.
"Great Story about the MacGregors."
The MacGregor story goes on with delightful romance and a Descriptive narrative that allows you to visualize and live in the story.
"Waste of Credit"
This is one of my favorite Nora Roberts books but the narration was beyond terrible. Not right for the story at all.
"The Winning Hand"
This was one of the first Nora Roberts books that I read. I enjoyed reading it and very much like listening to it. Angela Dawe did a fine job with the change of character and change of accent. Can't wait to listen to the rest of the series.
The narrator was very good. I loved the voices she created. The story line was very good it was a little short but the content was good. I liked the strong female character.
"Always Think on The Brightside"
YES, one of my faves in this series. I own all the books, but A.D. reading voice makes each of the male characters just a yummy as Nora intended them to be.
Our heroine is a Liberian after all, who takes a leap of faith. You have to give credit for inner strength.
Her yummy male voices for this whole series is great. She brings the MacGregor to life and he is not to be missed. He is so adorable in his strong meddling ways.
All through this story, Mac is as strong and protective as a girl could want in man! Yum
I own this series read by A.D., I hope you enjoy them as much as I have. Read the storyline if you are only going to chose 1. Book 1, 3, the MacGregor Brides, the MacGregor story and this book are my top faves as they heart lifting stories.
"Didn't like this one"
I didn't care for this "innocent" heroine. It could be the story or the horrible voice used by the narrator. Don't waste a credit. Buy One Man's Art by the same author and narrator but is so much better than this one.
I have this series in paperback
now Im collecting it in audibles.
I just love the characters and the story just comes to life.
