    "Simply charming and exciting"
Would you listen to The Seven Sisters again? Why?

Yes. I find there will probably be more clues to pick up as the story will obviously progress. I can't wait for the sequels. Surely there are more to come. The story ended with a clue to the beginning of the next saga. There is still so much to see were the author is going with this. 5 more sisters, Pa-salts past and connection with the girls, SPOILER ALERT- 7th sister.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I don't think I had a favorite, they were all intriguing in their own way.

What about Emily Lucienne’s performance did you like?

Very well done. Love the way she is able to speak in the accents and languages that make the stories come alive.

If you could take any character from The Seven Sisters out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Pa-salt. What was he up to?

    Any additional comments?

Please don't disappoint. Must know when the sequels can be expected. More, more, more.

    "Who Are You?"

It had a slow start, but once it got going, I couldn't put it down. I'm hoping to find the stories about the remainder of the sisters, as this book only delved into the complete story of the eldest. Though fictional, it makes you question who you are and who do you want to be.

This was a wonderful story, well written and I hope from the ending that it is only the beginning and there will be the other six sisters stories. Loved the narrator, her voice, and accents were great.

If you could sum up The Seven Sisters in three words, what would they be?

    Couldn't put down

What did you like best about this story?

The writers brought the characters to Life.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    Grandmother speaking to Maya.

If you could take any character from The Seven Sisters out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Isabella. Her story was faded after her husband discovered the truth.

    Any additional comments?

I am now a fan of Lucinda Riley and can't wait to read the next book in this series. In the meantime I will be listening to another on of Lucinda's books.

    Story
    "creative and captivating"

I did enjoy the story very much. There was interesting historical fiction and good character development. I look forward to the rest in the series… with the exception of the narrator. While she did well with the accents, many times she seemed to ne thinking of something other than what she was reading and her low monotone was distracting. That said, overall I enjoyed this book.

    Story
    "Unanswered questions and misleading title."
What made the experience of listening to The Seven Sisters the most enjoyable?

The book was characteristic of Lucinda Riley in that the story was wide ranging geographically and totally captivating in its delineation of character. Her ability to seize local atmosphere and convey local colour is excellent. However, I was disappointed in one respect: the title, The Seven Sisters, lead me to expect that the origins of all the sisters would be revealed in the course of the story, but this was not so. Are there to be sequels? I was left feeling that there was a great deal more to be said. I don't want to spoil anyone's enjoyment by elaborating on this but it would be interesting to read what other listeners thought. An engaging read, nevertheless.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

As mentioned above, I would have liked to know more about the other sisters.

What about Emily Lucienne’s performance did you like?

It was an absolute joy to have a narrator who could pronounce the French and Portuguese names and references perfectly. So often audiobooks are spoiled by poor pronunciation of foreign terms, which destroys credibility.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Probably when the heroine's grandmother finally acknowledged her grand daughter.

    Any additional comments?

Please, Lucinda Riley, let us have a sequel - or several!

"Good story but leaves you frustrated"
Would you consider the audio edition of The Seven Sisters to be better than the print version?

I always prefer to have audio versions of books these days. I don't have time to read.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I think all the characters were good but, I was always left wanting more out of each of them and none of their stories seemed to have answers to all of the questions that I had in my head.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I found the narration a bit flat. When I first started listening the narrator seemed to be gabbling through the book so I slowed it down on my Kindle...it was a little better then.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I found it very hard to have any emotion because the story lines are dangled in front of you....you get lots of questions in your head and then they just finish unsatisfactorily with the questions still dangling.....my only reaction really was one of annoyance.

    Any additional comments?

Hated the ending, it meant nothing to me. In fact I was very surprised when it ended as I thought there were hours worth of loose ends to tie up and lots of characters that had been mentioned but never explored. I assume, like most of the other reviewers, that there are going to be other stories about the other sisters....an explanation as to who and what the housekeeper was to the adoptee Father....who the adoptee Father actually was...where he came from....why he adopted young girls...why he never married....why he disappeared for long periods of time....what he did when he disappeared....why the Tycoon who committed suicide was on a yacht along side the Father's when he was buried at sea.....why Zed wanted to connect up again.....Too many unanswered questions.......A good book, but could have been so much better.

Where does The Seven Sisters rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Top 15

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Seven Sisters?

The last moment! I felt shocked and sad that it was over! I wanted more!
Also when Maia discovers that her roots are in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and she travels there, the way the Author describes the streets and ambiance of such an amazing City now and in generations past, with a gorgeous account of how the Christo was built and how her Great Grandmothers story is entwined with the Christo and her life!

What does Emily Lucienne bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

I loved listening to this book, just the right narrator and the accents were perfect, if I had just read it I would have missed the different voices and moods.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The Seven Sisters is moving and absorbing, and I was absolutely transfixed by it.

    Any additional comments?

I have read all of Lucinda Rileys books so far and my favorite to date has been The light behind the window, and this book delivers more. I have always loved been taken back and forth through generations and time in a good read and this book does it beautifully with hopefully 5 more sisters to go.... or six?

The story has an original plot-line but is spoilt by the narrator who delivers it in a laconic stilted monotonous drawl like a poorly acted victorian melodrama.

What did you like most about The Seven Sisters?

I liked the premise for the story - a man adopting 6 children then when he died he gave each the means to find out where they had come from. [The title is rather misleading, actually - although you think you may discover one more in the text - there were only 6 adopted - according to this text] We only got Meia's story - I was looking for the next book for Ali's story! I want to listen to the next book in this series - only there is not a series!!
I loved the unexpected twist at the end! I had to listen twice to really get it though.

Have you listened to any of Emily Lucienne’s other performances? How does this one compare?

As the book went on I began to appreciate the pronunciation of all the Brazillian names - excellent.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes I really wanted to know what happened next

Would you consider the audio edition of The Seven Sisters to be better than the print version?

    Never read the book

What other book might you compare The Seven Sisters to, and why?

    The Hothouse flower

What does Emily Lucienne bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

She brought the characters to life especially the ones in Paris and Rio. Her accents were very authentic. I would have liked more light and shade in her voice though. Overall she did a very good job.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

In places I was near to tears!

    Any additional comments?

I always learn about different countries with Lucinda Riley's books. I actually feel I have been to these countries. It was really interesting to know how the figure of Christ came to be in Rio.

If you could sum up The Seven Sisters in three words, what would they be?

    Great story needs several sequels!

Would you be willing to try another one of Emily Lucienne’s performances?

    No.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

For the story yes but the narration was annoying.

    Any additional comments?

The narration was slow with pauses where there needn't have been any. I got the feeling she'd been told to pause for effect but it was way to false. However her pronunciation was good, I'll give her that!
