Publisher's Summary

Braden Wright’s stellar performance brings to life this historical romance rife with betrayal, kidnapping, and soul-shaking passion. The MacKinnon’s Bride is a captivating tale of love and loss, the first audio in the listener-favorite series The Highland Brides.

Descended from the legendary sons of MacAlpin, Iain MacKinnon refuses to bow to the English. When his young son is captured by a minion of the English king, the fierce Scottish chieftain will stop at nothing to ensure the boy’s return. In a retaliatory move, he captures the daughter of his enemy, FitzSimon, planning to bargain for his son’s return.

Page never imagined her father, FitzSimon, would betray her. Even as she blames her captor, Iain, for breaking an agreement with her father, Page suspects a painful truth about why she was cast out.

"Keep her, or kill her!" Page’s own father proclaims, when Iain forces his hand. Only the love of her reluctant champion can save the fiery MacKinnon's Bride.

***The Mackonnon's Bride***

I struggled to finished the story, sorry to say but I jumped a few chapters it just dragged on it's too slow for me, the story is good but it's overly long and it got boring. Anyways I love the ending and the narrator Braden Wright his got the sexiest Scottish brogue I have ever heard it made me shiver all over *grins*

Dreadful 'Scots' Narrator

whilst the story maintained my interest, the narrator's accent was annoying, wavering between American and Irish and false English. A Scottish tale should be told in a believable accent.

Such a great story!!!!!!!

Aaaaaawwwwwwwww this is SUCH a lovely story - not all froth and bubble, it’s a meaty, sultry tale that absolutely captivates!! The only downside is, as mentioned by others, the narrator’s female voice which is grating but his male voices are overall quite good, with Ian’s being particularly ovary melting!!!!

hard to listen to

If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?

I found this book really hard to listen to. The narrators female voice was like Mrs Doubtfire and if she said Jesu one more time I was going to slash my wrists. It did take me two goes at starting the book before I could get into it but I did finish it.
