Story
Clare and Henry have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was 36. They were married when Clare was 23 and Henry was 31. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future. His disappearances are spontaneous, his experiences unpredictable, alternately harrowing and amusing.

Editorial reviews
Publisher's Summary
Rachel catches the same commuter train every morning. She knows it will wait at the same signal each time, overlooking a row of back gardens. She's even started to feel like she knows the people who live in one of the houses. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. If only Rachel could be that happy.
And then she sees something shocking. It's only a minute until the train moves on, but it's enough. Now everything's changed. Now Rachel has a chance to become a part of the lives she's only watched from afar. Now they'll see - she's much more than just the girl on the train....
Critic Reviews
"You don't know her. But she knows you. Rear Window meets Gone Girl, in this exceptional and startling psychological thriller. Gripping, enthralling - a top-notch thriller and a compulsive [listen]. " (S J Watson, best-selling author of Before I Go to Sleep)

Amazing!
At first I was sceptical... I wasnt too sure what the story was about but probably 20 minutes in you find its hard to stop listening. Loved knowing what each character was thinking, and the depth of each character. Very impressed!

Disappointed.
Thought it would never end. Id heard so many great things and the reality was such a let down. It was too long by far, and needed some serious chapter culling to improve the story's pace. I saw the end coming a mile off, everyone compares it to the twist in Gone Girl, but this was clearly going in one of three directions. The reading voices put me off too, not sure if it was the accents, the intonation or the pacing but it took me awhile to get a feel for the three actresses. I stuck with it expecting a big stunning finale and just ended up disappointed.

Surprised me
I saw another review for this book, about how it's from the point of view from an alcoholic. So I gave it a go.
It is written from 3 people's perspectives. Two in present time, one in the past. Yes, one is an alcoholic. It is read in 3 different voices, which brings the characters alive and makes it easy to distinguish between them.
It's a mystery. It has suspense. It links, and ties together. It had me guessing, and re-guessing.
I really enjoyed it. It surprised me in a good way :-)

Slow start, pretty good overall
The different narrators helped to bring the story to life. An entertaining read on my daily train commute through the suburbs...

Breathtaking
This was such a great book i loved it so much I listened to it day and night. I was losing interest at the start but then it took a twist you wouldn't of thought it would. Overall it was the best book I have ever read (better than The Fault In Out Stars) :) <3

Captivating
This was one of those stories I couldn't wait to get back and listen to almost daily. The intertwining of the plot unraveled constantly, never letting too much be known at once. The narrators did an immaculate job encompassing the mental image of each individual.
As I got deeper into the book, I found myself relating to one of the characters, wondering what I would do in that same situation. This thriller was so well written, I would tell some of my close friends parts of the story, and even they were interested. I highly recommend this book based on the observation that all necessary aspects for a wonderful listening experience are perfectly included.

Difficult to follow track of story
Because the story kept jumping from date to date it was difficult to keep track of time and date, unlike a printed book where you can go back to the start of a chapter and check character, time and date of setting. If the chapter index of this audio version could include this information it would make a vast improvement.
