A memorable ensemble cast of four young women who share a beautiful loft apartment in New York City's Hell's Kitchen and experience the glamour and challenges of city life, love, and career in this irresistible contemporary story.
Four young women's lives intersect in the apartment they've shared in Hell's Kitchen: Claire, a shoe designer; Abby, an aspiring novelist; Morgan, a successful financial consultant; and Sasha, a resident in obstetrics. As different as they are from one another, the women had become a family by choice. But while their lives had proceeded smoothly in the years they'd lived together, new relationships, job opportunities, and surprising circumstances will test the strength of their bond in and outside the loft that had become their home.

This book is laughably lame. Written at a 5th grade reading level with a male narrator reading in a falsetto character voice. Awful.
I really enjoyed this book. it was hard to stop listening too. I highly recommend it. I can't wait for her next book!
"Another Must Read from Danielle Steel"
I haven't read the print edition, but the audio edition could have been better.
I think it was when Abby brings home a dog she adopted from a shelter on a whim. Her roommates aren't impressed but gradually open up to the dog and miss the dog when Abby leaves New York, taking the pooch with her.
That would depend on the book. His portrayal of female characters in this book seemed forced, and the book should have been narrated by a woman since the main characters are female.
There were several parts of the book that made me laugh.
"Not Steel's Best"
Having a male read the story of four female roommates did nothing for the story.
"Good read about friendships"
Enjoyable & Entertaining from Coast to Coast, Chicago, Paris & Milan. Woman making their way on their own
"A fun read"
No, I primarily read it because I had not read anything by Danielle Steel before. I enjoyed it as a light story.
There were some surprises I was not expecting. It was not as predictable as I thought it would be.
No I haven't, but he did a great job with the accents and the women's voices.
No, I would not.
I wish the narrator was a little more compatible with the story and that thr story had a little more action.
Loved the story. Nice plot that wasn't too serious. The only criticism is that the book features 4 strong female leads and yet they had a man narrating it? It just didn't seem to make sense to me. The narrator did a good job but seeing as at least 80% of the dialogue was female you think they would have had a female narrator. It was a little awkward at times when the narrator had to keep doing feminine voices that came out stereotypical and whiny.
"Not the Danielle Steel Book I'm Used To"
The concept of four women sharing an apartment in NYC is great for a Steel novel but this was a disappointment. From the narrator (a man narrating women's voices just doesn't work) to the continued repetition of the storyline was painful. The story itself was ok (thus 2 stars) but it sounded as if it was written for a tween.
Nice book ! Good to listen on car trips . I liked the girls a lot and will miss them.
"One of her best."
Danielle Steel is prolific. She has six books out this year and this one is one of the best I have read in the last few years.
She is at her feel good best here with a familiar theme of four very different young women getting together to rent 'The Apartment' - a huge loft space in New York. The listener gets to know about their lives, jobs, families, boyfriends and the usual ups and downs occur. This book is beautifully crafted and kept me interested and entertained. If you like Danielle Steel you'll love this one, and the narrator was excellent. It took me away from my life for a weekend and I was bereft when it came to an end. Thanks Danielle. I look forward to the next one.
"Brilliant storyline, very well read, loved it."
Excellent book, loved the story and looking forward to next Danielle Steel book. great listening
"Not the most exciting of stories"
The plot needs to speed up and have more about it. It is slow, predictable and boring in several places as the same thing is said quite a few times.
It is significantly more dull and doesn't have any real spark to it that engages with the reader because it is easy to guess what is going to happen.
Explored two of the relationships but with more depth, intrigue and substance to each character.
NO! It would be so boring just catching up with the lives of the four females and their lives were not really exciting anyway.
Personally I felt it was a waste of a credit and had i paid full price I would have wondered what for!
