From #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts comes a compelling story about love's softening effects on even the most guarded of hearts.
The first time single father Spence Kimball set eyes on Natasha Stanislaski, he was floored by her exotic beauty. But the former ballet dancer turned toy shop owner had a fiery temperament that kept men safely at bay. Sensing a hidden wound, Spence and his little girl joined forces to find a way into her closely guarded heart. For Spence realized he'd do anything to tame Natasha's fears...and show her how to love.

I love All things Nora Roberts and enjoyed the story. BUT the narrator made the heroine sound like an old vampire movie! Her Russian accent was awful, just not realistic at all.
Very disappointing. Just boring. Not typical Nora Roberts quality. Simple romance but no plot to speak of.
did not like did not bother to finish. the person telling the story sucked! wow
"excellent story great voice for it loved the hole"

loved it . Recommend story for a quite peaceful read. A story of new love and happy ever after
"It's Nora Roberts"
I enjoyed the book... I almost gave it a four star but really not one of her best. Basic storyline with a few twists but really basic stuff.
It did take me awhile to get passed the narrators attempt at a Russian accent but it grew on me.
If your looking for a quick no brainer listen, this will work for you.
Love the story. The characters that Nora Roberts creates are full of depth and humor. I read this story years ago and loved every moment of it and couldn't wait to meet the others. I did not care for the narrator. Her voice fell flat and left me thinking of a nasally, whiny child.
I enjoyed the storyline. Having studied Russian and lived in these areas, it's hard to listen to such a poor imitation of the accent. It makes Natasha sound like she has a speech impediment rather than an accent which also led to a monotone heartless voice. I did not enjoy the narration at all but I did enjoy the book itself. I wish they had chosen other narrators for the next books. Having the book without an accent would have been better.
Good read First audio boos. Enjoyed it very much. Story line was good. Thanks audible.
"Terrible narration ruined the listening experience"
I stuck with the story because it was good but struggled through the listen because of the terrible voices of Tash and Spence. They were so very bad that I couldn't feel the love relationship between the two characters at all.
Not sure what the logic was behind making those two voices sound like they were both drugged and under water. Very bad decision. All of the other voices were fine.
I was looking forward to listening to the entire series but I think I'll end with this one if the others use the same narrator.
"Gentle love story"
A good story and much more emotional than I was expecting, having already listened to the 3rd book of the series.
The story broached some tender topics very sensitively, a real, feel good, easy listening book.
Beautifully narrated definitely 6☆ stars if I could give it for her performance
