it's not the original

I read all of Irvine welshs books years ago. I started to listen to them again in chronological order starting with skagboys this time I wanted to take note of all the characters that intertwined between novels etc I was hugely disappointed when they've totally f@#ked this novel cut it heaps , changed the stories dropped others to suit the movie sequel. it was never called trainspotting 2. And the thing that pishes me off the most is there is no option in English to hear the original book.

Few things to get over

Firstly, the audio quality and editing is awful. Spent too much time looking up why the version is different to the original and the chapter heading don't match up with original book. Was feeling short changed and wasn't enjoying the storyline early.
Once I got over the issues with the abridged version of Porno, the story took off and I found myself loving the pace and the character interaction between the switching perspectives.
Great story. Excited for the conclusion.

Excellent story, poor production

Story and performance are excellent.

Badly made though. Bad sound and some weird editing is a barrier at times to being engrossed as I could have been. But I still thoroughly enjoyed it.

Missing half the text

Can’t understate how much of the text has been abridged in this adaption. Most chapters have half their content removed, a lot of chapters are just straight up missing. Narrator keeps changing and with no logical flow, sometimes halfway through a chapter. Horrible audiobook adaption. Just read the book it's 10x better than this.

Bought this by mistake & can't return it.

Dreadful! I didn't realise this was an abridged version. After listening to Skagboys and Trainspotting, I was expecting much, much more than this dull schoolboy "erotica". Even the narrator sounds bored.
