Viv arrives at Wildflower Cottage, a tumbledown animal sanctuary, for the summer. Her job is to help with the admin, but the truth is she is here for something much closer to her heart....
Geraldine runs the Wildflower Cottage sanctuary. She escaped from her past to find happiness here, but now her place of refuge is about to come under threat. Can she keep her history at bay and her future safe?
Back home, Viv's mother, Stel, thinks she might have found a man who will treat her right for once. Ian is kind, considerate, and clearly head over heels for her. That's what she has wanted all along, isn't it...?

"Milly Johnson fan "
I could hardly wait to get this book, it was brilliant as usual Milly, never disappoints & Colleen, tells it so well. Loved it
"Love this author!!"
I have absolutely loved every one of Milly Johnson's books!! This one took me a bit longer than usual to get into though. It seemed to be a lot more predictable than her other books and to be honest, most of what I thought would happen in the end, actually did but there was a lot of great roller coaster rides before the end came!! I wasn't expecting Vivs reason for going to the sanctuary to be what is actually was. The 'Old Spice Girls' were a bonus to the book too. All the different stories kept my interest throughout. Ian Robson was an absolute VILE man and I was really looking forward to seeing him getting his 'come uppance' and was not disappointed when he did. Recommended - read and enjoy!!
This story was very well written and covered a wide range of human problems. It was very well read and enjoyable to listen to. I would recommend the book to everyone. You can loss yourself in the story. It will make to laugh out loud and make you cry.
Always look forward to a new Milly Johnson book and loved this as I have done all the others. Really like this narrator as well.
Once again a really good story and beautifully read , never saw the ending coming , but a happy one
"A smell of of friendship"
Great listen, even though the genre is more Women's Hour than what I'm used to. Three main line studies twisted and joined to leave no time for filling out , each story gallops along at a can't stop listening pace. Well worth its rating and so was the reader
"Did not get hooked until the last couple of hours"
It takes way too long until the story gets interesting. The reader is kept in the dark too long about what is going on with Viv. But then when I got near the end I could not stop listening.
Another brilliant book by Milly. Well written and great story. Really enjoyed it and I can't wait for the next one!
"Terrible narration - Avoid"
I couldn't tell you much about the story, as the narration was so slow and boring that the plot was completely lost, and I couldn't finish it. It was most unnatural to listen to, and felt as if it were being read to a 5 year old. Each sentence was punctuated with multiple, and completely unnecessary, pauses, for which I can only presume was dramatic effect. But when a sentence such as 'she reached for the jam *pause* and spread it on her toast *pause* before turning to put in the kettle *pause*', you become acutely aware of the tedium of the detail, and the melody of the story it lost. Very disappointed that I wasted money on this - buy the book if you like the sound of the story, but avoid the audio version, and anything else by this narrator.
