Viv arrives at Wildflower Cottage, a tumbledown animal sanctuary, for the summer. Her job is to help with the admin, but the truth is she is here for something much closer to her heart....
Geraldine runs the Wildflower Cottage sanctuary. She escaped from her past to find happiness here, but now her place of refuge is about to come under threat. Can she keep her history at bay and her future safe?
Back home, Viv's mother, Stel, thinks she might have found a man who will treat her right for once. Ian is kind, considerate, and clearly head over heels for her. That's what she has wanted all along, isn't it...?

It was narrarated beautifully , I could really amagine the cottage the flowers and the gorgouse sweet animals
I found the main character to be instantly likeable , I really had no idea of the out come of the story which is a nice change. It wasnt predictable.
a hawk can always see what we can't
More books like this one please
I am a total audiobook addict! I travel quite a bit for work and listen to them while I drive. Always searching for a good author to follow
I just love Milly Johnson books. This one was good but I miss them being in Barnsley and the other characters from older books popping in!
It was a great story and I absolutely powered through the book! I can't wait for the next one.
"Love this author!!"
I have absolutely loved every one of Milly Johnson's books!! This one took me a bit longer than usual to get into though. It seemed to be a lot more predictable than her other books and to be honest, most of what I thought would happen in the end, actually did but there was a lot of great roller coaster rides before the end came!! I wasn't expecting Vivs reason for going to the sanctuary to be what is actually was. The 'Old Spice Girls' were a bonus to the book too. All the different stories kept my interest throughout. Ian Robson was an absolute VILE man and I was really looking forward to seeing him getting his 'come uppance' and was not disappointed when he did. Recommended - read and enjoy!!
"Milly Johnson fan "
I could hardly wait to get this book, it was brilliant as usual Milly, never disappoints & Colleen, tells it so well. Loved it
I was looking forward to this book but the storyline AND the narration were very disappointing.
Was ok but VERY predictable!! Was quite confusing with lots of characters. Probably have to listen/read again
This story was very well written and covered a wide range of human problems. It was very well read and enjoyable to listen to. I would recommend the book to everyone. You can loss yourself in the story. It will make to laugh out loud and make you cry.
Always look forward to a new Milly Johnson book and loved this as I have done all the others. Really like this narrator as well.
"A lovely story"
I really enjoyed listening to this story. One could visualise the lovely scenery especially as I know all the areas described. I will certainly be choosing another book written by Milly Johnson.
"a really good book"
another brilliant book from Millie - well done full of ups and downs as always
Once again a really good story and beautifully read , never saw the ending coming , but a happy one
"A smell of of friendship"
Great listen, even though the genre is more Women's Hour than what I'm used to. Three main line studies twisted and joined to leave no time for filling out , each story gallops along at a can't stop listening pace. Well worth its rating and so was the reader
