When your past controls your future, how do you move forward?
Velaney Wills knows about that all too well.
Weak, powerless, and fearing the one person who has hurt her the most...can she overcome the barriers to move forward? Being saved by a muscled Godsend was never on her agenda, but when firefighter Eric Reilley comes into her life unexpectedly, everything changes. Velaney has never felt loved or cared for, and her past prevents her from letting anyone in.
Eric manages to break down her walls - despite the repercussions that come for them afterwards. They have an undeniable spark -something she has never felt before, but will it be enough? Can love overcome all obstacles? Can they save each other to protect their love or will her past shatter everything she never knew she needed?
Spark is for mature audiences only - strong language, explicit sexual content, and sexual abuse are apparent.

"Get ready to burn!"
It's time to burn down the house! Eric Reilly - hot, chiseled, firefighter, AND a southern accent to boot! He will make you swoon! Being new to town, he instantly is drawn to Velaney after having to save her more than once! However, she has strong walls built up to protect herself after a horrific childhood! Eric is determined to make Velaney his and break down her walls! Their story is amazing and I absolutely loved it! Another hit by the wonderful Brook Cumberland!
A great book!! Loved!! I'm an audible freak, so I'll be watching for more from Brooke Cumberland!
"A Spark of Possibility"
This book was a sweet romance but I never connected fully with the main characters, especially the heroine. Readers who enjoy contemporary romance will enjoy the book. It was a bit too lackluster for me.
WOW WHAT A STORY!!! Love the relationship the struggle the passion the strength.. Now on to Burn going for a HEA :-)
I had already read the book, so I was able to follow along without having to completely focus on just the book!
There wasn't anything I didn't like about the book!
She did such a great job with the characters! Her emphasis in the right parts was spot on!
Not that I can think of...
"I need a fireman!!"
Great story, the narrator did an awesome job.
Her voice was easy to listen to, but I don't think she brought anything to the story for me. I loved listening to her though, I was able to get stuff done and listen at the same time.
There were times I laughed =)
