I loved the earlier shopaholic books In the series but the last two have been ridiculous. Total waste of time.
"Danny has an English accent? Janice is Northern?"
I spent most of the time wondering why on earth Janice and Danny have different accents to normal. Bring back Emily Gray please.
Another classic Sophie Kinsella! And wonderfully narrated! So happy I downloaded the book & added the narrative! Enjoy!
"Amazing as always"
Sophie Kinsella is a fantastic author and I have followed her shopaholic books all the way through. This one was as good as the first and all the others in between! It's a true thrill when a new book from this series comes out.
Not so sure about the reader, she read Becky Bloomwood beautifully, even though it took a while to get used to it, but I wasn't thrilled about how she read the other characters. Sorry just my opinion.
Thanks again Sophie Kinsella another triumph!
I am an avid Shopaholic Fan and I was so looking forward to this installment. So much so, that I saved it for my forthcoming extended weekend. I enjoyed the previous instalment so thought this book would have the same level of enjoyment. I was so disappointed. The book has a collection of good episodes which are true Shopaholic style however the book felt disjointed. I felt it meandered in parts and I found myself having to re-listen to sections to find the sense. There are good parts to the book but as I neared the end I could feel myself saying thank goodness for that, next book please. I'm not sure if there will be another in the series but if there is being a fan I would try another in terms hope it would be better than this one.
Next listen is Payback by Kimberley Chambers. I know, very different but I need some realism!
Narrator was good, I thought she brought the book to life. I might have given up if I had just been reading this myself.
"Disappointing for shopaholic"
I've always loved these books but this one was a little dull, the story line wasn't fantastic and I wasn't hooked
"Done it again"
Another brilliant story line captivating and just as much entertaining at start to the end look forward to Becky's next adventure
"Probably my least favourite of all the shopaholics"
I found the story a bit rambling and not that interesting I'm afraid. The narrative was very good. I guess all of Sophie K's books can't be amazing. It had very little laughs in this story too.
I enjoyed the rest of the Shopaholic series and I used to generally read a lot, however since having my baby I don't have the time. It is lovely to have something easy to listen to when trying to sleep.
"Brilliantly Funny as always"
Ive read all the previous books but found Clare Corbett's narration excellent and she captured Becky's character very well.
The ending, without giving anything away, Becky to the rescue!
Although I enjoyed reading the previous books, because her narration was so spot on, it brought Becky to life so much more, plus I could carry on doing knitting, gardening etc. whilst being entertained.
There were moving moments but generally these are light hearted books
Although I do like serious books, particularly thrillers, there are times when you just need to listen to something a bit light hearted and Becky Bloomwood certainly gives you this!
"Very slow and boring."
I have always been a huge fan of Sophie Kinsella but this book did not compare to any others. It was very slow and boring and the storyline just wasn't exciting enough and there wasn't enough humour for me. Dissapointed :(
