A New York Times Best Seller
There are a few unbreakable rules in the game. Stay collected. Compartmentalize. Think your next move through. Never let your heart dictate your tactics. The heart is impulsive. The heart makes bad decisions. The heart doesn't see the long game.
The heart may have decided to get Adam back, but when the endgame comes, the heart's going to be the one to break.
This full-length novel is the conclusion to the Games Duet.
PLEASE NOTE: This audio is done in DUAL, not DUET style. I'm sorry it doesn't match Marriage Games, but it couldn't be arranged.

CD Reiss has given us everything in this book. The answers to Adam and Diana's marital conundrum, an understanding of the BDSM scene and the reasons it can simultaneously attract and repel participants, and the sacrifices required to play this game called life.
I loved the narration of Separation Games, the shift in both narrators' tones as their roles in the game changed along the way. They had amazing material to work with, and truly did it justice.
While some duets are more like linked standalone novels, this was an exquisite story of loss and love and happiness reclaimed through pain that really needed to be told in two parts. I'm so glad I have found this author. Not only has she given me a fabulous story in which to lose myself, but a different way of viewing my own life and that of people around me... in a good way of course!
"This duet should have been one book."
No. So much of Diana's internal thoughts could have been eliminated as they were repeated in her dialog with Adam or in her actions. During Diana's portion of the book, I really felt like I wasted a credit.
If I heard of a friend that really wanted to start this series, I would recommend that she start in the middle of the book. The first half was a waste of time.
Make this duet one book. It really felt like the author milked the story to make it into two books, therefore getting more $$ from the customer.
Both Elena and Sebastian did an outstanding job. Sebastian's performance saved the series for me.
No. This is the problem with series going over one book. I'm thankful I started Marriage Games, shortly before Separation Games was available. I didn't have to wait long for the 2nd part of the series.
"A satisfying end"
I very much enjoyed listening to Separation Games. The only thing that could make this audio book better would be more Sebastian York because he is awesome.
"Can I give this book 100 stars??"
WARNING!!!! This review is going to be filled with OMG, LOVED, and !!!!
When I finished book one of this duet I liked it a lot but was annoyed by the cliffhanger but that's just a love hate relationship I have with Cliffy's. So when book 2 came out yesterday on audible I grabbed it immediately cause I needed to see where this story was going. And OMG I didn't even sleep until it was over!! This book was amazing!
If you've read the Songs of Submission series then you know just how great this author is but The Marriage Duet literally put her into a whole new range for me. Her writing is excellent, the story was incredible and the sex scenes were SO hot that your ears will almost melt when you listen to it!! Everything about this was really just that good!
This book picks up right where Marriage Games left off (thank god)! Adam is such a complicated character, he is dominant in the absolutely BEST way and he is also cautious and loves his wife completely. Diana thought she knew her husband but little did she know there was a whole other side of him, once she see's Dominant Adam, she falls in love all over again. Together these two are trying to find balance. Always questioning, Are they better off without each other? This book takes us through their 30 day agreement with all the good and bad and brings us out different readers on the other end, or it did for me at least! If I thought I knew what I wanted in this story, I was wrong. I couldn't have even imagined it would end so perfectly how I needed it too!
This is my first Favorited book of 2017! And Adam has just pushed Jonathan off the pedestal I put him on ;)
THIS IS A MUST READ DUET!!!
"Tiresome, Juvenile and Exhausting"
It was hard to believe these two were adults with successful business careers. The incessant games and the back and forth, I think I got whiplash. These two didn't seem to know the meaning of love -- they only loved each other when they behaved a certain way. I really liked the first book, Marriage Games but this one, not as much. Normally, I really like stories by CD Reiss and so far this is my least favorite. Much of the nonsense and inner turmoil of this book should have been eliminated and added the meat of this book to the first book. I was so sick of Diana and Adam about half way through, I didn't care whether stayed together or not.
The narration is amazing and it certainly gave more interest to this book than I would have given it otherwise.
The duet is worth one credit, not two.
"Amazing! One of the best narrations experiences."
Completely worth the expectation, the wait and the hype. Separation Games delivers beyond what a reader expects from having read the first book. It's a story that is so well constructed and thought after, but the beauty is in the interpretation and the narration that gives life to the words and make you see clearly and feel all of the emotions that CD Reiss has purposely set out for her readers to experience. I am beyond grateful that I have found this author and that she knows how to tug on the mental and emotional core of her readers with such beauty, truth and realism. Both narrators were just superb, as always, but Elena Wolfe completely killed it!! Her narration of the final chapter in Diane's POV was just BEYOND!! Goosebump worthy!! Bravo!!!
"Profoundly Moving and Scorching HOT!!!"
From the very first Audible book (BEG, TEASE, SUBMIT-SEQUENCE ONE:SONGS OF SUBMISSION BOOK 1) by CD Reiss that I listened to, I developed a genuine Girl Crush on her. Her brilliance comes out in every word she writes and she passes that intelligence on to her characters and the stories she creates for them. Yes the books are HOT and the sex can be RAW and ROUGH, but there is always an underlying Love, Trust and Adoration between the characters. CD Reiss writes SMART KINK!! Her Audible books always have a Pride Of Place in my library.
I recently came across a quote by Colette Werden:
It’s OK if you fall down and lose your SPARK. Just make sure that when you get back up, you rise as the whole damn FIRE.
In MARRIAGE GAMES, Diana and Adam Steinbeck’s seemingly perfect five year marriage falls apart. She feels there’s something missing and he’s been hiding a dominant part of who he is. They lost their SPARK.
In SEPARATION GAMES, Diana has found the SPARK that Adam ignited in her and she manages to convince him that together they can burn the whole f*#king world down with their FIRE. Two people who can’t keep their hands and minds off each other stripping their emotions bare to reveal who they really are …. Made for each other.
Elena Wolfe and Sebastian York are brilliant giving voice to her words and my Girl Crush on CD Reiss has grown exponentially. ♥♥
Never have I rooted for the male team, until now! This book made me want to be submissive just to be with him. The love and strength of both characters whike trying to find and fight for their love is amazing!!!!
loved both books! the narrators are perfect!!! I will be looking for more books by this author
Yeah, I probably would. It's a good emotional story.
the emotional element
I loved their performance, I think they did a superb job at bringing out the emotions that the characters were going through. I wished that SebYo did the male narration in this story like he did in the last one instead of only his scenes. And vice versa for Elena Wolfe.
I almost did. It was only interrupted by sleep.
"Sebastian and Elena are narrator all-stars!"
OMG! What an amazing ride! Who better to take you on that journey than Sebastian and Elena. They are one of my favorite audiobook teams!
I started this book IMMEDIATELY after finishing Marriage Games, because I was left helplessly dangling with my mouth wide open w/the ending. Adam and Diana are a power couple personified. As I'm reading the story, and feeling right along with them, Christine has this ability to make you think while reading the story. I found myself pausing, and mirroring some of Diane's and also Adam's questioning of themselves. The whole story is a beautiful, ugly, and sweet tale of what happens when you look inside deep yourself. You discover something you didn't know, or didn't want to know, and you accept it--or try hard to. Of course, there's no shortage of heat in this story, and it's not always pretty, but it's real and brutally honest. Any of the other characters in this book--Charlie, Stefan, Serena, Zack--could get their own story; they're brilliantly developed. Maybe we'll be surprised with one of their own tales. You aren't just totally engaged in the story, you feel somehow changed after reading this, if only slightly and perhaps unseen by others.
The characters Christine writes are strong and weak; broken and totally put together; curious and stubborn. Sometimes at different times; others simultaneously. There are all sorts of feels associated with this series, and Christine doesn't give you any choice in going through them. With her books, there's no doubt you'll be gutted, you just don't know to what degree she's decided. You'll get that HEA, but Christine's characters and readers will damn well have to work to get it.
"Intelligently analysed relationship"
A little over analytical at times.
Excellent characters, Diane irritated me immensely with her mixed signals, telling Adrian to go away and the her internal dialogue 'fight for me'. I think this is quite common among women though.
I could totally understand the not loving certain parts of a person/Partner.
Very intelligent writing.
"Satisfying culmination to the duet"
This installment was truly exciting up to about 65% then it did settle somewhat but I'm completely satisfied by the story. These characters have been all consuming and a flawed as they were, I was utterly immersed in their relationship, their separation and their games. This duet has been stand out and memorable.
The narration was excellent and I understand now why it wasn't duet style, it still works exceptionally well.
Wow yet another awesome and incredible story from CD Reiss. Great sexy and strong storyline with incredible characters, brought to life by talented narrators.Would highly recommend this audiobook and this
