I'm not sure who this book is for. The content is obviously geared towards teenagers and Young Adults... not preteens. However, the writing style, wording and plot development was very practicable and almost spoon feed to you; like something you would expect for a Juvenile reader.
The I love you but I can't have you.... but I love you plot line. Was hard to follow and very annoying.
Annoyance at the writer and annoyance that I bought this book.
"OK book but not so good narrator"
Not really that happy with this book or narrator. It dragged on.
some parts were interesting, I kept going cause sometimes it take a bit to get into the book.
NO she sounded like she had a cold the whole series. No difference between the characters.
Absolutely loved the characters and the story!!!!! I had read this twice before and listening to it on audio was just so great!! To have it read to you is so good.
"Waste of money and time."
Horrible vocabulary. Cheesy lines. Nothing happened throughout the entire book. Whoever narrated this sounds like she had her nose plugged the whole time.
"Great story, annoying narration"
Loving this story and can't wait for the next book. However, I'm not a fan of the narration. Seems as if the narrator is talking through her nose too often and she's trying far to hard to BE the different characters. Overall I do recommend this book.
"love this book couldn't put it down."
must read, loved it, written so well.
Couldn't put it down, you fall in love with all the characters right away, it leaves you wanting more.
"Not worth the cliffhanger"
The female character doesn't have enough depth to believe a romance could occur between her and someone who has lived almost a century. The story fails to grow and then, bam, a cliffhanger. Didn't leave me wanting more. Maybe a better book choice for ages 20 and under.
I stumbled upon this book by accident but the cover was beautiful. I baught it just to see what it was about and it's already amazing and the cliff hanger left my heart pounding so I have just purchased the second book today because I finished this. It leaves yoyo wanting more.
The plot was really good. I enjoyed the secondary characters and the history behind the paranormal story line.
Many apologies but I listened to the entire series over the course of a week, so it is hard to remember what happened in each book. I am glad that I was able to purchase the next book and not wait.
I don't think I would have picked up on Asher's occasionally Irish accent.
When the world hangs on your decision, how important is free will?
"narrator good story was choppy"
i feel like there was a lot left unsaid. choppy and readers were expected to catch up. like they never said they told the aunt and then all of a sudden she knows everything? and like the "plan" at the end....? i sure hope the second book provides more connecting details.
I'm not sure about the actual storyline of this book as I had to give up after a few chapters. The narration of this book is just too horrible to listen to any more. The narrators voice is really nasal and annoying and her accents are just dreadful. The worst is probably Ash, she just can't seem to decide where he's from. One minutes he sounds Bostonian, then a weird mix between Irish and Welsh, then slips into one of the worst English accents I've heard in a while. I will probably try the Kindle version, although I have to say that what I've heard of the book so far doesn't sound to promising either.
