Renting out the apartment over his garage shouldn't be a life-changing decision, but when Delta soldier Cormac "Fletch" Fletcher meets Emily Grant, he feels an instant connection. He can't stand the thought of Emily and her young daughter living anywhere unsafe. Offering cheap rent is a small price to pay for their safety...and Fletch's peace of mind.
Being a single mother is difficult at best, but renting the extremely affordable space from Fletch makes Emily's life a lot easier...until it doesn't. Suddenly all the money she's saving thanks to Fletch's generosity is going into the hands of a blackmailer. And what little food Emily can afford goes to her daughter Annie, so the girl doesn't go to bed hungry...leaving Emily weaker and weaker.
When miscommunication has Emily assuming Fletch is in on the blackmail, he not only has to gain her trust, but also deal with a man holding a grudge against Fletch and his entire Delta Force team. A task made more difficult when the dangerous man gets his hands on Emily and Annie.
Rescuing Emily is the second book in the Delta Force Heroes Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

This one held my interest till the end, not dull moment. I can't wait till the others comes out.
I really like the way Stella reads the story.
"Didn't Really Like This one"
I've read quite a few of Susan Stokers books recently. I've enjoyed them all except this one. In fact, I returned it for a refund cause I know I'll not read it again. It took too much effort to get through it the first time.
First if all, the plot was just a little too thin for me. I won't give any spoilers but you REALLY have to suspend belief in this one. The heroine just seemed a little too weak and gullible to me. As another reviewer said, I found myself rolling my eyes at her. It seemed like she put herself through too much angst for a situation that could've easily been remedied if she'd just opened her mouth.
Also for some reason Fletch didn't seem as 'real' to me as some of the other heroes. He seemed rather generic. Sorry I can't be more specific than that. Just can't find any better word to describe him than that.
Lastly the heroine's daughter was way over the top. She was six going on 25. Again prepare to REALLY suspend belief with that one.
Anyway, between a weak, simple heroine and and the generic hero, I had a hard time feeling the chemistry between them. It just seemed rather forced to me.
Anyway, I'm not going to tell you not to read it because if you want to keep up with series, you'll want to do so. I will say that I hope you enjoyed it more than I did.
"Delta Force HUNK and the single MOM~ 4 STARS~"
plot: Delta Force soldier Fletch rents his garage apartment to single Mom Emily and Annie when a blackmailer takes control of their lives.
Emily is a single MOM and lives in a dangerous low rent area. When she responds to an add for a garage apartment the new land lord HUNKY Delta Force op...Fletch soon takes in Emily and her bright daughter Annie. A blackmailer who has a grudge against Fletch soon is holding Emily up for cash when he threatens her daughter. I love these characters. This author is very good and keeps the likeable characters and hot sexy plot moving but what keeps me from a full 5 star is the blackmail angle which is not too believable. Still a good listen and the side Delta Force I am sure are other stories and books. 4 STARS~
Lots of action with strong characters. I am enjoying this series almost as much as the Navy Seals series.
"Laughter and Action Rolled Into One"
For a story filed with action and suspense, this one also gave me many a chuckle throughout. Annie and Fletch and Emily worked together so perfectly. Have to love those girls in dresses and combat boots.
I very much enjoyed this book. The whole series is something I have enjoyed reading and listening to. I love this author she tells a great story
after reading werewolf stories it's a nice change!Try it you may like it since it's a love story!
"Fantastic story and great narrator"
I really enjoyed this story and fell in love with Fletcher, Emily and Annie.
Narrator does a good job with both male and female voices.
Hint. Although you can listen to the Stoker books in any order, I recommend following the order they were written for maximum enjoyment. At the very least, listen to Rescuing Rayne prior to Fletch and Emily'sstory.
"Even better the second time!"
Susan Stoker is one of my favorite authors. I enjoyed listening this time through and will next listen to Marrying Emily which I have not yet read. I'm captivated by all the characters and the way the stories unfold.
